Lol man what a finish, you can counter out of that or hit him out of it with a fireball store/release. But on the spot mustve been a hard decision to make especially at that distance.
If you play a blanka that hops alot, remember…throw OWNS that shit. You saw in that match there wasnt a time really where I went to throw and I was beat out by something. Time it right, throw beats all his options except like…hop > Vert ball or hop > Ultra. Both you can see him charging then hop, you know?
Blanka makes me nervous. When I see the ultra, I just wanna get away. I should have just blocked and left it into the hands of fate. Thats what I get for being arrogant and thinking I can determine my own fate…heh. I always trya nd be flashy…and fuck the counter up everytime…heh.
I know the match only because of the guy I played, he helped me a great deal giving me tips and stuff, great guy…stand up guy.

Eh…not impressed. Solid defense and good gameplay. But nothing special from juri…just…playing juri. heh. Then again I only watched the matches vs adon.
edit: Oh shit, wait…I saw a few things I liked…heh. He did Kaisen off of a fadc around 6:00. After the ultra, he does far mp and goes for an empty jump in into c.lk, s.lp > c.hp xx pinwheel. Great combo. But the setup. Why the strong. No reason to do that, except if this was a safe jump. I dont have time to try this and test it, but if someone can that would be great. (The gf’s coming over and shes not happy, lol…gotta prepare for a beat down).
Also, on anti air: c.mp xx low store > release xx fadc. Never thoguht to do this.
All in all, solid match against adon. great zoning, holding his ground. Sometimes got a bit jump happy but played the match great.
It wasnt a safe jump, its Adon and you cant really queue a normal like you would a dash or a jump. Though you can time it obviously, far strong just helps move you forward abit and maintain some sence of wakeup time every now and again. In Fse you can usually use far strong to both move you forward and as a kind of a step kick, you move abit more forward if you cancel the far strong into another normal.
Adon exposes Juri pretty badly with Hk Jag kick counter hit setups off stuff like cr.mp, its a nightmare and a half to deal with because you only have one answer to it, and thats dashing under it on its startup arc, you dont do it on reaction but rather on prediction, you get a full cr.hp punish so its a massive payout but a big risk because you never know what you could be dashing forward into. Ultra 2 is another option but i pick U1 usually so its not an option for me.
As for juicebox, i gotta say id like to see his Juri in a tourney, hes got his reads and execution down, the mixups on empty jumps and st.mp to blow up crouch techs are on point as well. He makes what he can work for footsies but it lacks because Juri cant keep up with getting in and out of ranges (walk speed lol). The only thing i see very wrong is st.lp, he misses that alot, dont hit crouchers so its always much safer to go for 3 frame st.lk’s imo.
After matching the Juri vs Adon and C.viper, makes me wanna amp up my game after seeing some awesome combos I wanna test out. Like there was one with 9 hit combo that was sweet hoping to learn as well. Juicebox is really good I’m amazed by counter Adon jump axe kick with cr.mp.
Well. Mike. Something I’ve been wondering about is when your forcing a stand.
Example. Jhk, slk, slp > cmp xx hk pin.
Wouldn’t the j hk put the person in block stun high and force the person to stay blocking high?
If thats the case then why wouldn’t I use that as my jump in hit confirm?
you only force stand for as long as the j.hk blockstun, unless your doing j.hk > st.lp, its not going to work past that (if they are crouching).
Well, i know a while back we worked out some frame traps off the s.lk. What about frame traps off the s.lp? Doesn’t it offer more frame advantage? maybe something like a c.hp would be a good trap off the s.lp?
On block lk and lp are both +3, the only difference is lp has more range than close lk and has +7 on hit, which is why you can do BnB on some characters with 2x cl.st.lk/cr.lk xx st.lp xx cr.mk xx pinwheel.

I’m not a fan of either of the players. I think both played the match incorrect.
Akuma should be mixing up demon flip dives, palms, and grabs, uppercutting the up teleports and sweeping dashes. This makes the match really bad for juri. He should not be ground fireballing or using far hk. Also… Ultra 2? Yes, he hit it but it didn’t do anything for him.
Juri… Should bank on him using far hk and using cmk to stuff it or seeing the whiff and punishing it. I see the juri tried using the stand jab combo… But why? Just go for c.mp xx hk sempusha? You don’t need to confirm this. You see it coming out and you know the second hit whiffs… Do it. You should expect this.
As soon as an Akuma starts throwing fireballs you’re eye should turn on and you should lick your lips. We dive kick those ground fireballs (especially reds) and dash under the air fireballs. Akuma cannot win the fireball game, he should not try. If he does… You should not see more then 2 go out without some sort of punish. Dive kick being your best bet.
This Akuma teleported a lot, hk dive kick these. You should expect it. Delay a crouch tech and if you see him turn red dive kick. Covers srk, throw, and teleport.
Combos guy. Combos. I didn’t see you land a combo. A lot of shorts and jabs with a medium at the end of the string. But there were times you hit him and should have confirmed it.
Just my thoughts.
Started playing this again this weekend and only took me a few matches to readjust. Not sure if i just needed a break from the game but i feel like im playing better. I’ll post videos when i get home. On another not, that Juice box Juri is high pressure very good shit.
