Thanks:tup: About the throwing on ex punches i didn’t know you could do that but isn’t it safer/better just to go for a c.mk into pinwheel? On the headbut- ya i saw that while watching the replay and said the same thing, in the heat of the match i really wasn’t ready for it tho hence the throw lol.
And yes, i do vertical jumps to punish dash punches if i feel they may be coming in. I also do random full focus attacks, my overall strat against Boxer is to capitalize on every dash punch he doe’s. Some smarter players will notice and stop dashing, thats when i get own’d. Some rogs dont even use dashes and just normal me to death i really cant deal with that yet. Thanks allot for the input guys, i do lots of dumb random shit that gets me by in the other vids too please check them.
Some general advice:
-Try not to jump into corner letting them out, and careful with blocked pinwheels, you’re lucky that Akuma only threw you as punish once. He could’ve raging demon’d.
-I wouldn’t use Ultra 2 as an anti-air, it can be a fickle mistress.
-Careful with dive kick safe spacing (it was mostly ok though), you shouldn’t do the followups unless you’re sure they’ll land. instead hit confirm 1-hit into LK/EX pinwheel or Ultra 2.
-more cr.LK BnB combos and less random EX pinwheels. Although, some of those opponents were kinda begging to get EX pinwheeled
vs Rufus:
-Nice zoning.
vs Chun-Li:
-I personally approach this match-up with zoning, because chun’s close game pretty much outclasses Juri. I play it more like you did with Rufus.
damn… I couldnt finish watching any of those matches…come on, weve got to have SOME decent Juri players outside of Neo / Good Time / Ed Ma / Eish

maybe its just what ive seen so far from other juri videos (that are not the players i listed above), but it really seems like there is a lack of good players on the juri boards…players that have videos posted anyways. I know all of you havent uploaded matches.
please dont take that comment as an attack on any of you personally, because i dont mean it that way, but it just REALLY seems like the Juri boards need to level up.
if im completely wrong, or if im speaking out of place, please correct me, but i would really like to see some solid play outside of neo and the japanese players.

Its fine dude, I think everyone here is man (or woman) enough to not get mad.
I for one acknowledge I suck. And I’m working on fixing this. But unfortunately leveling up is easier said than done, it requires tons of practice and is a slow process, especially for someone like me without previous fighting game background. I have to learn my fundamentals from the ground up. Like I said, work in progress :wgrin:
We’ve seen some relatively solid play in our PSN Juri meetups from several players, I think there’s some videos in the Team Juri thread. Of course, its mostly Juri mirrors.
I would actually be interested in seeing more videos from some of the better Juri players here.

No but for real, did you even watch any of mine? Not any of the old stuff, that shit’s trash. The recent stuff. (From two pages ago.) I think it got buried really quickly what with a certain Kara-storing video and all.
I personally think im an average player with average knowledge. I have a LOT of room for improvement. A lot of my verbal flailing has been my lack of understanding on what mental game improvement I should be doing and how to up that. Execution is just lab work…you can always work on that. But HOW to use my execution is what I need.
With that being said I’ll have a set I did with a friend of mine and I’ll post the matches…its a ft10 set so…I’ll be glad to ehar you pick me apart. It ended with me like 10-4 in my favor.
I will say, I’m pretty boring lol, there’s not much to my routine. Don’t throw enough either, but oh well. Once my studies are over, maybe I’ll come back to the game.
I watched the bison match. Nah man. Very solid juri. Went for frame traps, throw mix up, threw in an option select… Good mix up on your fireballs. No dive kicks here, reversals when necessary…

ryuga, you know how i feel about you’re juri. i never thought it was ass at all lol. and for the record, i’m not trying to bash my fellow brothers in arms, i just want us to level up together so we won’t be looking like people like halfempty at tourny play. so please don’t take what me and k1 said in negative light. we all can benefit from each other getting better.
He was nervous D$. I would cut him some slack (I think it was wired who was the juri). He did a lot better than me at Nec and My juri LOOKS so much better than his, so I think the fact he was on the stream might have gotten him nervous.
I’m very sure my juri would have looked the same way. At NEC (my first big tourney), i played much differently than I’m used to. Infact, my peers thought I was free until i got back into my comfort zone. They begged me to pick Rose as I was “better” with her. Now they’re mad if I dont pick my Juri. I think i’ve earned their respect.
