0:26 - absolutely no reason to divekick, let alone divekick finish. the other juri punished with sweep when he could’ve down c.HP - HK/EX pinwheel.
0:30 - really? wake up HK pinwheel, and you didn’t block it?
0:34 - cross up j.mk - EX pinwheel is not hit confirmable. if he blocks it, he can punish you big time. in fact, he should’ve blocked it.
0:50 - too many divekicks. you don’t need to divekick against juri, unless they whiff/you predict a fireball. and you don’t need to jump so much either.
0:52 - another non-hitconfirmable EX pinwheel combo
1:21 - still don’t agree with random divekicks. and there is no reason for an EX pinwheel.
1:33 - i see it again. wait for their response to the fireball before you decide to divekick. and establish why you’re doing it. against certain characters i low fireball and divekick to get close. some characters i bait the focus. there’s no reason to get close to juri.
1:40 - low fireball up close?
1:43 - funny frame trap by the opponent. i might have to consider using that every once in a while.
1:50 - walk up u2 FTW is hilarious, there is no reason for the other juri to eat that. IMO when i see stuff like that i feel like the random ultra-ing player just gave up on the match. don’t expect to win with those against competent players.
Here’s a list of matches that the one of the folks over at UYG ran across. Kind of feel that the last 3 - 4 matches are seriously worth noting. Most definitely one of the highest end Juri plays we’ve ever seen to date.
I just found these randomly, absolutely fascinating Juri play. I love the resets, god knows how Hav knew to block the fuzzy guards, and using the mid height EX release to pin HAV down for Feng Shui activation is a fucking excellent set-up.
Update: We’ll be uploading a few more matches of this Juri versus HAV. It seems that both of the players got a good handle on each other’s playstyle. Basically to the point where the fights begin looking choreographed. We’ll link the matches up as soon as they’re done uploading.
I came here to send a shout out to UYG and more specifically the set with HeavyJugz vs Abel. This set interested me a great deal and I plan on watching it a few times and dissecting it. Furthermore, shout out to UYG, check out their matches, very fun stuff to watch.
But I cant help but feel a bit suspicious about the forward motion of abel. Once abel gets a KD on Heavy…it was game over. Was this because Juri gets raped by abel or because HJ had poor defense.
I wouldn’t say so much as poor defense as that’s the nature of Abel’s mix up game. A lot of 50/50 mix ups that lead into resets back into a 50/50 mix up for huge damage. It’s a guessing game as to what to do in the mix up so unless you generate some kind of offense against Abel there’s not much you can do against his mix up game other then defend and guess right.
