april 23 is deadline for hotel mwc discount (i think) so we need to decide if we are going soon to get done with reserving rooms / arranging transportation.
for me:
- MWC is HUGE
- Alex Valle is coming and they are streaming the tourny live
- 0 chance of winning competition but might luck up and win the raffle
- my exam ends may 8th (tournament day) just 3 hours before it starts
- no time to practice ssf4 before the tournament
- I don’t like driving for 2+ hours
I will know tomorrow if it’s even possible for me to go, I would have no problem driving to Chicago and back if I can
I’m 100% going. I will have a car here that weekend so if anyone needs I can drive them. Obviously I don’t think I really have a chance of winning anything (except maybe jackie chan lol) but it should be a blast anyway. I’m just excited to play a bunch of games with a bunch of new people.
I hope as many purdue people as possible can come, I don’t want you guys to be a bunch of stream monsters watching at home!

I’ll come FORSURE, but I have a final on friday from 7-9, so I can only go after that. Venomish why do you want 2 nights? I’m pretty sure nothing is happening that friday, unless a 3v3 is happening, I can drive back from chicago ez mode with my brain fried from a tourney on sunday night so why stay the night in a hotel besides saturday night? I can’t wait, gonna level up my HDR/ST ryu hardcore for the ST/HDR tournaments!!!

The rooms are $69 a night with the group discount, and yeah I think 1 night will be enough for sure. I’d be willing to split a room 3 ways too if 3 of us are going.
Tony if you wanna play some HDR or maybe GGPO ST later this week I’d be down, I’m not very good but maybe if I can get back into it I’ll enter that tourney too.
I’m on the fence about MWC, thinking I should at least go to see what it’s like and go 0-2 in whatever I decide to play.
I’d be down for some HDR, MVC2, or TVC sometime. My stick definitely works on 360 and gamecube and it should work on ps3 but i haven’t tested it (got an MC cthulu in it). Let me know when you wanna play and I’ll try and show up.

hey guys, i was thinking i would make a new purdue thread, with a detailed first post including who is currently active in our scene, an irc chat we can idle/talk in (#SRKMidwest, since no one is in there neway, plus its designed for the Midwest community), where meetings will be, what games each person plays and characters in that game, and tournaments/sessions people are going to in the coming days.
I initially bumped this thread from the archives when i couldn’t find a Purdue thread here, because I thought I shouldn’t just make my own thread when I didn’t even know if there was a community here but I think it’s time to make a new one.
As much as I want to go, I can’t do MWC, my exam schedule makes it completely impossible
