As I posted before, I live in Newtown, CT. I went to high school with Adam Lanza. He was an autistic kid who was 2 years younger than me and he was in my computer repair class in 2008. He played counter strike with all of us during the times during class where we would goof off. he was a very quiet kid. he wore the same outfit every day, a green plaid shirt and khaki pants, and he always carried a briefcase. He was also in the chess club. The reason he massacred the kids is because he was autistic. some, not all, people with autism spectrum disorders are capable of terrible acts because their brains do not feel empathy or compassion for other living beings. I have no idea why his mother owned multiple deadly automatic weapons. I expect this post to be ignored and you guys will continue your ignorant and insensitive posting.
i’m really interested in hearing what that kid’s story is. i don’t even have a theory on why someone would kill kindergardeners, kindergarden teachers, his mommy, and then himself other than drugs/crazy.

I don’t see how you jumped to this conclusion. Most mass murderers feel no empathy, whether they’re autistic or not. Is there any link between autism and mass shootings?
This brings to mind an interesting question. What happened to the Columbine survivors? I wonder how they’re doing psychologically. Of course there’s no way to extrapolate what’ll happen to these kids because they’re much younger, but I wonder what happened with the Columbine survivors.
With these survivors being so young they may just shrug it off. I don’t know.
yeah, he was caucasian. his parents divorced in 2009. he lived with his mother and she apparently owned automatic weapons. they lived in a mcmansion type house one of the wealthiest areas in my town. beyond that and the fact that he is autistic i have no other explanations for why he killed his mother or shot up the school.
most of these school shootings have been by caucasian americans with autism spectrum disorders, depression, or anxiety disorders. i don’t have ANYTHING against people with autism spectrum disorders or depression or anxiety. I suffer from depression and anxiety. I have many close friends who have autism spectrum disorders. As you know many fighting gamers have autism spectrum disorders. I am NOT saying that autistic people are evil. They are just at risk and it’s terrible when things like these happen. It’s not the answer to call him a monster and say he should be tortured and ripped limb from limb. There’s nothing you really can say. He should have just been raised with better care instead of ignored by the entire school and community. and his mother should not have owned deadly assault rifles and pistols.
People who are autistic may lack general empathy but aren’t the same as sociopaths because they’re highly anxious individuals and generally don’t carry on in such brutally violent and premeditated ways. I’ve seen autistic kids react violently in high school only if they are bullied or prodded, but even then it’s only at their aggressor(s), never mowing down random people.
If he’s as functional as you claim, then his autism could never be used as an excuse or even a logical reason- since functionally autistic people still have an idea of morality and usually are very introverted.

In Canada no one has guns except for the cops. If you think that having HANDGUNS designed to KILL A PERSON in the hands of every “innocent, god-fearing american” is a good idea, you are an idiot. Making guns harder to obtain is a valid option, considering how piss easy it is to get a semi-automatic pistol in the States. You can’t use something like that for anything other then KILLING ANOTHER HUMAN BEING, and how is that something that people can defend? It is absolutely beyond me that Americans think that the way to fix gun violence is MORE FUCKING GUNS.
well, his mother worked at the school, so there was a connection. and he went to that school. there are obviously many unknown factors. she probably provoked him, or he was provoked by his family, and his upbringing, and all of the abuse and isolation he took in high school. it probably triggered him to violence. who’s to say what anyone is capable of, autistic or not?
