Nice fights, he obviously knew the MU. Ibuki can really be a pain in the neck sometimes, her zoning is not bad, and she can quickly deal a ton of damage.
PS : what was this commentator saying ? During the second vid it looks like someone is being raped or something… ^^
From what I can tell, they’re cheering on a close friend at the neighboring station (the names aren’t those involved in the featured vid), I think the Rose match was on a side station.
I might have an idea against Seth’s 50/50 DP FADC mix-up :
Since 2012, according to Capcom changelog, Seth is supposed to be -3 on FADC of his EX DP. All of his DP are 5 frames, meaning we have 8 frames long to attempt an escape. I know his shoryuken hitboxes are different from others shotos, slighly smaller and more up close oriented.
It might be possible to avoid both his DP and his SPD by forward jumping during those 8 frames. Furthermore the 3 last frames are dash frames, meaning he’s still moving into the other direction. Possibly EX soul throw too, if a slight invincibility is needed while crossing-up his DP.
I tried in my lab, and forward jump worked against regular DP. But I suck both at DP motion and FADC, so I might have left a bigger gap than the actual one.
The other thing I’m wondering about is… has he still got the invincibility of the previous DP (22 frames X_X) during those last 3 frames ? If not, wouldn’t a cLP connect before he does anything else ?
To change a bit of MU, I would like to introduce you Rosie :

I beg your indulgence for the sloppy moments, she’s only 3 months old so my execution still lacks consistency. But I would appreciate your criticism. It’s always interesting to have an external point of view, thanks by advance. Unexpectedly I had trouble against… Claw (^^).
The EX version of shoryuken wasn’t changed and I think the 1st hit of all his regular shoryuken still puts him at -1, meaning he still has time to do crouching attacks, preventing you to jump
EDIT: how much frame does it take for Rose to be in an airborne state when pressing jump forward ?
If he would do that then we’ve have won something, 'cause our backdash would beat both his normals and SPD. The problem is the DP’s reach.
If you mean unthrowable by airborne, then in my experience it’s from the very first frame, as I can always evade a throw by backjumping no mater the frame advantage the opponent has.
Now, I’ve done some capture, and she’s not fully airborne until the 5th frame, so it takes her 4 frames to initiate a forward jump. It’s worth a try, I think.
And even if it’s too short, there is still the possibility that the EX Soul throw could escape… even if it doesn’t seems to move a lot during that 7th frame of invincibility. =)
Another useless idea is that it might be possible to OS standing guard/throw, 'cause his EX SPD isn’t immune to throws, and he’s still between -1 and -3…
well I said cross up because I tried to reproduce the same thing in my lab and the orbs wouldn’t want to hit chun. So I decided to watch again pause it when chun got hit and it seemed like Rose was away from Chun and it crossed up. But now I see that he was pressing buttons so it might have been why he got hit. It would be nice if it was indeed a cross up tho. it looked like a nice setup
Very good punish at 3:06. Max Damage. Its true it used 3bars and and an ultra, but hey, to finish a match I would do that too. Otherwise, good play from Jiban. You can never block everything, especially against a character like Makoto, but good play anyways, from both parties. Any person who plays against Makoto should be very attentive for that hayate cancel into karakusa, it could lead into very big damage :(.
