I’ve been playing AE since Vanilla on the PS3. I’ve also owned a PS360+ for about 6 months, no “slowdown” noticed.
I’m going to try the Rose vs Gen @ Chinatown (daytime). What costumes, ultras, and colours were used? We’ll see…

This is good data. I’m also interested to see if you’re on the latest ps3 firmware and when the last time you updated your ps360+ firmware was (and if never, when it was purchased). Board rev would be good too if that data is silkscreened in.
No problems for me and my ps360+.
We have 2 modded sticks with PS360+, the bootloader is v1.20 while the firmware was 1.2 and we upgraded both pcb’s FW with the new one (1.3). Still same problem with both sticks !
Pc & Xbox is fine, but on PS3 the framerate slowdown problem happens.
We tried other sticks everything’s fine. I even tried my PS2 Hori stick with a PS2 port->USB adapter and everything was ok.
I really can’t tell what’s in those PS360+'s that’s making the PS3 go bananas !
I play on a Slim PS3 latest FW (Not the Superslim), have upgraded to 1.3 for my PS360+. Purchased in late Jaunuary.
I just tried the Rose vs Gen on Chinatown (daytime)… I noticed nothing. In versus mode, normal costumes and colors, U1 for Rose, U2 for Gen.
My brother is using an ordinary SFXT Stick, Im using an EVO stick, modded with PS360+ and Remora (lol, totally obsoleted the original PCB, I just like the clear case )
Seems normal… In my 6 months of PS360+ usage, I have never noticed a slowdown. I play offline with friends and family often.
I’m also adept in AE. I’m not incompetent, I would notice slowdown immediately whether it be minor or bad. After a lot of online play, you start to pick up on the slowdown/lag, so as to not play that person anymore…
Still no problems on my end. Can we get more PS360+ users that have a PS3 to run this test?
I got a PS360+ in a Injustice stick. I give it a few game runs on various games and I get back to you guys.
After EVO I’ll also add my input to the pool. I have a PS3 60 gb and a PS360+ (that isn’t quite installed yet) and SF4, so I can test it out as well. But not until after EVO.
I am going to take one the sticks apart and redo everything and post a feedback here.
Possible to post a video as well so people can see with their own eyes?
Can you answer the other stuff I asked though. Hub, soldered, cable length, etc. when you do that also?
Here is what i can remember for now.
Gen = regular costume vs Rose = this dress in white color: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jfTw2WZnn4I/Tjn9350Wc-I/AAAAAAAAGnQ/r-ZXloOYYWo/s1600/RoseAlt3.jpg
I don’t remember both Ultras, just Rose = Ultra 2
My PS360+ setup:
-1.3 firmware
-RJ45 to USB cable original from Akicus website. (Should i use the other conector?)
-All buttons wired except the Home, cause i don’t have it in my arcade controller.
-Everything is hooked up through regular screw terminal
-No extra outputs/hook up used, no solder, no headset jack conected as well…just the regular screw one.
I’ve had a different problem - hooking up my pair of PS360+ sticks to PS2 causes the console startup to either take significantly longer than usual (haven’t timed it but I’d estimate 15-20 seconds of black screen before the game boots) or sometimes does not boot at all. if I unplug the sticks and have nothing plugged in or official PS2 controllers plugged in it boots up as normal. I can upload video, time how long it takes, and supply any other information if anyone is interested.
I do not have the means to do so.
I can only report my own findings.
I come back when I have a definite log of findings
There are known issues already with PS2 support in the PS360+.
SLOWDOWN CONFIRMED:
First of all, I’ve been a big advocate for the PS360+ and have installed it in several of my friends’ sticks. I haven’t noticed the issues until now. I have figured out the alleged slowdown.
Settings:
This is a significant slowdown too. It feels like you are playing in online lag. It does NOT happen all the time, but the fact that it does is annoying. In addition, the match can play fine…and then lag out of nowhere…and then return to normal. Lag can last several seconds, or for a brief moment.
I now wonder how many issues were caused at tourneys due to 2 people having PS360+s and versing each other on a stage that wasn’t Training Stage. Airfield seems safe to me, but even ones like the Deserted Temple will also cause lag (albeit not as severely as Chinatown).
The underlying root cause is the fact that 2 PS360+ sticks are both in play at once. In the same settings, I tried swapping out 1 stick for a standard Madcatz and after 10 matches, no lag occurred. Likewise, 2 Madcatz’s caused no lag. Put 2 PS360+s in…after the 2nd match, lag occurred.
PS360+ are correctly installed with no issues otherwise. Just putting them head-to-head causes the lag.
Can you test with another PS3 and other games? Or on a 360?
I was leaning towards getting a PS360+ so this is all interesting, but more data is always good.
Tested with another PS3, confirmed lag. I don’t own a 360.
Its not a huge deal, but it is kinda annoying being confined to the “non-busy stages” (Boats, Airfield, Overpass, Training, etc).
I actually would still recommend this PCB anyways. It is just too flexible and easy to pass up. Just be aware that if you do a lot of casuals with your pals / scene, find out who has a PS360+ too.
I discovered this during casual play as well. I only had 1 PS360+ stick, playing against a Madcatz SE, and there was noticeable slowdown. We’re not talking about a few frames here, we’re talking about a VERY clear indication that game is slowing down and frames of animation are being omitted. This is offline btw.
The cure, like mentioned previously, is to simply use a non-busy stage. It’s really not that big a deal. Majority of tournament players prefer to play on training stage anyway, which is why it’s so prevalent in many finals matches.
just wondering if an more info has been found regarding this issue. i got one of these recently and it causes large amounts of slowdown regardless of the stage.
