PS3 SF4 owners PLEASE READ THIS! (NAT settings in post 21)

So, I guess I’m waiting until we can afford a wireless card for our PC so I can move the router closer to my PS3. Anyways, thanks a lot for all the help mekkanic, I’m sure once I can move the router closer my connection will be perfect. I really appreciate you taking the time to guide me through all of that shit.

no problem  Just wanted to share my experience and knowledge on my setup, since I too had a hell of a time trying to get NAT 2 with AT&T DSL and my router. The routers that are used with DSL usually have built in DHCP crap that isn’t needed if you are using a router in conjunction with your modem.

What kinda wireless router do you have?

Hey guys quick question…

I remember awhile back I configured some stuff with my network and the PS3 but I don’t quite recall what I did… Now I read the portion of this thread about port forwarding and I thought I’d give it a shot but before doing anything I performed a network connection test on the PS3 and it says i have Type 2 NAT already. Should I still reconfigure my router or should I just leave it?

its a bit late and maybe asked this before but how can you install ps3 games?

only certain ps3 games can be installed via options. sf4 is a good example. You should able to find that by going option then to system settings -> install.

Probably off topic but I don’t know where else to post. So I’ve been playing FF7, and every time I reach a save point…the Save option is still shaded in. I’ve enabled a PS memory card (and named it, I don’t know if that changes it?) and it still won’t allow me to save. Has anyone figured this out?

Have you assigned the virtual PS1 memory card to a Slot?

Pretty sure I did, but I double checked and clicked it again. I’ll try again and let you know what happens  thanks.

edit: That was it!!! Thanks a bunch bro!

yeah half of the players i play dont install there game, i dont really mind cause then i get to think through the strategies in my match up

i got a problem

i recently had to purchase a new router (Linksys Wrt160N) and before i did i was able to play sf4 online without disconnecting but now everytime i play online i disconnect as soon as the match starts

and also when i first start up the game it says “failed to load download able content”

before it never said that and now everytime i play i always wind up disconnecting…and i also have my ports forwarded too and am on NAT 2

can someone help me?

sigh* can someone plllzzzzzz help me

i rly dont want to post a new thread just for a problem like this

wireless sucks period get on modem

I heard people were skipping the install session…

How is that possible ? I thought you had to install the game to play it…

Everytime I notice someone hasn’t installed the game I get on my headset and say in a sing songy voice “Someone needs to install Street Fighter”.I really get a kick outta it!

Is it true that the training stage is less laggy than other stages online?

i dont know where else to ask. Does the matchmaking get better the higher the rank on PSN? Are there more challengers on championship mode the higher the grade level?

so unless both persons have the game installed and optimized nat settings online play on the ps3 sucks?

I DO NOT own and xbox360 or ps3 (more a fan of those huge machines that accept tokens) but I’m going to get 1 soon and need to find out which is best I will only be playing fighters and Madden.

Just put together a really simple video on installing sf4 on PS3. I played 3 people today that hadn’t and they couldn’t understand my instructions on how to do it.
