My experience with cheap cables has been that they get an interference from poor shielding. I had a cheap PS2 component cable that left a really messy overlay on the. The image quality was as crisp as you’d expect from component cables, but the interference made it worth replacing. This is also common with SNES/N64/Gamecube s-video cables. You get a “screen door” overlay with it.
If you got one that doesn’t have this issue, then more power to you. I personally have stopped making that gamble.

Going for cheap cables is a gable, and getting a quality cable for a really cheap price is like winning the lottery.
