Yea, I think soft banning giants is a good thing. Frankly they are boring. in fact I find them more boring than the jigglypuff match up in ssbm (and for those who play that game know just how boring that is) You cant really attack, its super super campy. And I didnt pick this game up so I could camp at the other end of the screen all day. I dont think anyone did. Im all for the soft ban or temp ban on giants.
Giants are Free!
Do whatever you want. It’s all you. Come this Spring you can take the game and the rules with you. You can even ban Zero and Jun the Swan if you like.

Should Giants be banned and let people like zero run ranpit, or should they be accepted and take the risk of destroying everything in their path. lol, seriously though, I can agree with what all youse guys say but to ban a giant is not right for the people who main them. Sure I play with Big Nasty Gold Lightan but that doesn’t mean I will always win with him. Picking Gold Lightan reminds me of playing poke’mon. If the oppenent picks Ryu and Kaijin no Soki, then I am not really concerned with what they can do to me; but if the oppenent picks Frank “Oh My God” West and Saki “The God over Giants” then I’m screwed. It’s just a matter of who you have and how well you adapt to playing a different way. I also want to say when you fight Tekkaman Blade, don’t you have to fight differently against him so you can have a better chance at beating him and his gay cross-up. The game creators put Giants on the game for a reason and that reason was for people to play with them and to throw something new to the game, which to me, was a great idea. And don’t you think if you put a soft-ban on giants, people who are not good against Zero or Tekkaman Blade would want to put a soft-ban on them. I will say though it can be quiet boring when you see a PTX vs. Zero. But how I see it when I play and I fight a Giant, I too will pick my Gold Lightan because too me, thats fun. I also don’t know how every one is, but if I play you and you’re not good against Giants. I won’t pick him anymore against you, because Its not fun for me. But, just to wrap this whole long speech up, I’ll just say this! To me Giants should not be banned because their not gay and their not boring, it is a change of pace from the regular flow of things which keep it entertaining; and lastly this is just how I feel about this matter, the guy is trying to start a TvC scene in Riverside, CA., which I hope you succeed in, and I live all the way in Mobile, AL. so its not like I will influence him or his crew in a major way. This is just how I feel about the conversation.

fighting yoshi’s ptx is prolly some of the most invigorating matches i’ve ever had…i think a ban on giants is too much man you either learn to beat em or …dont win i guess i main t.blade/whoever so i cant say much about how unfair giants are i mean really … i find this game to be a true perfectly balanced game

Until giants are proven to wreck the game and serious skew tourney results, they should stay.
Yes, it really sux that a lot of basic options are nullified by their mega armor, but they are still highly beatable as several notable players have pointed out.

Storm can run, sure, but last I checked, I could throw and combo her just like Sentinel, Storm, Magneto, Cable, Cyclops, Iron Man, War Machine, Doctor Doom, Strider, Spiral, Blackheart, Psylocke, Captain Commando, Tron Bonne, Dhalsim, Anakaris, Cammy, Colossus, Gambit, Iceman, Juggernaut, Marrow, Guile, Mega Man (Rockman), Omega Red, Rogue, Ruby Heart, Charlie, Baby Bonnie Hood, Ken, Akuma, Ryu, Silver Samurai, M. Bison, Captain America, Jin, Jill, Wolverine (Bone), Wolverine (Adamantium), Venom, Felicia, Morrigan, Sakura, Sonson, Amingo, Chun Li, Hayato, Sabretooth, Incredible Hulk, Shuma-Gorath, Spider-man, Thanos, Zangief, Dan, Servbot, and Roll.
You CAN’T combo Abyss though. That guy isn’t playable in tournaments.
So characters with special abilities to avoid most hitstun and normal throws as a tradeoff to being unable to regenerate health is not ok in your ideal TvC world? Fascinating.
You should be able to combo every character and not have to rely on character specific to do some basic air combo on a freaking giant. If your going to use a giant, it is your fault. Expect a lot of run away and spamming just to win. Giant users I do not respect but oh well giants are free.
You are acting really spoiled in regards to game mechanics. Play to win and quit complaining.
Is that really your idea of a balancing factor? The life regeneration aspect of the game is very small, practically negligible. However the bonus health, throw invulnerability, hitstun invulnerability, and super size (this makes gaining position against them real challenge) are huge. People bitch because fighting against them feels like a boss fight in Megaman…not a fighting game.
But its cool dude. We don’t have to agree on this (and I don’t think we ever will). They are in the game, so have your fun with em.
