I am about to start a new project , but before I do I just want to confirm one thing. Has this been done before or are people providing services like custom gates ?
The first gate I have in Mind is this one. Nothing special its an Octa-square gate. For Hybrid Characters mostly. I’ll be using acrylic. The initial design will be for the Hayabusa stick. Wish me luck , and if I am reinventing the wheel please let me know.

What exactly is the purpose of a half square half octo gate? Just curious. Doesn’t seem practical in most applications.
Custom gates do exist (such as the Toodles JLF circle gate), though nothing like the design you had in mind.
No idea unless it’s for Killer Instinct Gold on the N64.
I am using a square gate at the moment and I felt that though the gate is amazing for charge characters , they can be a little iffy for characters that require Half Circle Forward or 360 Motion. So I thought why not make an Octo-Square.
Lower half will help with Circular Motions and upper portion will help with hitting the corner (Charge Down-back then up-back). That is what I THINK. I might be totally wrong. But no harm trying.
Hmm I see what you’re going for, but I feel like an octogate will probably handle what you’re asking for.
I personally use square all the time for everything.

I lasered a bunch of different gates a while back. My favorite was the 360 gate and a friend really liked the the DECA gate which I didn’t care for. Everyone has a preference.
