It doesn’t matter who’s character is better… its how your playstyle affects the opponent that counts… There are also great Elena players out there… I think i saw a video of combofiend once
Seems like Elena has good potential due to her randomness and piorities and mix up. Is there any pro Japanese Elena player that has done well with Elena?
elena is watered down chun so you can kind of look to how chun plays matchups and try to adapt it if you want. its true there are like no elena vids online, basically abuse her unthrowable RH, learn her EX combos and play healing cuz its actually really really good since she has no low confirmable high damage options anyway.
elena is really fun, when i first first started playing i actually wanted to play her cuz shes so well animated/cool.
thats my take anyway. and nothing is cheap so don’t stress about it.
What do you mean by her RH is unthrowable? For me Elena just seems to beat a lot of people who are not familiar with her… I mean, I don’t think they know her moveset well or something, I don’t either. But she has different moves that hit overhead, low. I just thought that with these moves which are tricky for people since they don’t know her well, she might be an effective character.

maybe the most difficult character to do so. you have unbelievable players with all chars, except elena =p of course, there are really good players, but no absolute “masters” with the character (like yamazaki’s 12 or seanP’s Sean for instance)
This is an old post, but I just want to say that Chun-Li can mount a GREAT offense without meter. She has the best damn normal moves in the game, her super just makes her even more deadly.
Yeah…the only issue is that Chun can’t necessarily start doing tons of damage just because she got one EX worth of meter. She has to get a whole super bar before she can totally wreck you but her super high priority pokes make up for it. If she’s just predicting your playstyle well she’ll just hit you with 3 b+HP’s and 2 kara throws and that = half life gone + she’ll have super if she hits you with another b+HP or c.MK. Chun Li can take hella damage just by outsmarting you with her pokes over and over.
And once she has gauge, she doesn’t need to over and over, just once, then that makes people into sad sexual harassment pandas T.T
And that’s a great offense she can mount without meter. Watching a lot of pro Chun-Li players shows that she doesn’t even need meter to win. She probably has the best footsie in the game.
shes fun to use. i have alotta laughs using her. i remember me and my friend who i kept beating and he wanted both of us to choose with our eyes turned/close and at first i got Q and got my butt whooped which pissed me off then i got elena and HAPPY DAY I WHOOPED HIS ASS. Best shit ever. i obviously won the 3rd round
I agree, Elena is REALLY GOOD when used properly. Her mixup is sick. But I still hate her.
