yEAH for some reason Q has always been my favorite character in the game.I also sometimes find him hard to compete with some of the better characters like Ken, Makoto,Hugo,Urien.So I have been force to use one method that proably All Q users find. When playing with Q dont worry about trying to build your Defense up, It aint Happenin. Always go for his throw and do it towards the corner.Once there in the corner this is how I do it.
Using Super art 2
Motiongrabxxcrouchingmp.xxMotiongrabxxJumpingHp.Reset until you get your super then after motiongrab right before they fall do the his superart2.If done right this will reset the whole combo and let you play with the oppenent as above.This work with everyone except Ryu,Ken,Elena,Sean.Note(with those chracters you just have to change up the pattern and out smart your oppenent.

Anyway, there’s a bit of a problem with your strategy. using a normal to reset after Q’s command grab is great, but you can’t just expect to grab them again as they land. What if your opponent just jumps? Then Q’s stuck whiffing his slow ass grab as your opponent comes down on his head. That’s why you have to risk things like c.hk, or ex slaps to keep them grounded. What about reversals (I’m assuming that’s what you were covering by listing the shotos, but most characters can, at very least, super you in the face.)? 'course, all of these carry a risk when they fail, which is why taunts are important. You’re right, they don’t just happen, you make them happen (with standard setups, like eating a fireball, or air-to-air hp). Every taunt, especially that 3rd one, makes Q’s guessing game that much safer, simply by lowering the overal cost to you if you’re wrong.
Also, cornering an opponent is what any Q wants to do, but it’s never as simple as just ‘throw them until they’re there’. Let’s face it, a lot of Q’s time is spent backing himself from corner to corner, and once your back is to the literal wall, your opponent is going to know that you’re just dying to switch sides with them, so they’re going to use that against you. This again is why Q needs as much stamnia as possible, to maximize the number of offensive oppertunities he gets.

the motion grab he’s talking about is Capture & Deadly Blow (aka, C&DB) and it’s done via a half-circle back motion on the stick then pressing any Kick button. each kick makes Q gut punch them to varying distances. not sure if one comes out faster than another though.
as for his sequence, the symbols “xx” usually mean cancel into or super cancel into, so the way he wrote that is misleading because C&DB does not cancel into anything, it just allows for a juggle. so what he was trying to say was this:
C&DB -> c. strong (aka, crouching or low MP) -> C&DB -> jumping fierce etc.
again, don’t be mislead by that sequence. after C&DB -> c. strong, your opponent will be reset (the juggle has ended) so your opponent will be able to avoid the second C&DB (or even hit you) in that sequence. so really, it’s hardly a foolproof plan.

Hey! Sorry about the confusion I was kinda in a rush when I did the THREAD.Anyway as somesaid before motiongrab is CaputreandDeadlyBlow{CDB}. And anytime this move is done the oppenent can not awake until they hit the ground. I am reffering to the comment made saying they will awake cancelling his super.No after you do CDB just simply do his SuperArt2 to connect before they hit ground. Thats why you try to fool the oppenent as much as you can because after 2or 3 CDBs. there going to no todo something diffrent.

Q has two Supers that will connect with CDB.SuperArt2&3
As explain early when using SuperArt2 the Punch use to connect doesent matter as long as you connect.So (CDBxxSuperArt2xxtoDashingHeadAttack).While they are in the air charge the DHA so when they reappear on the screen you can time it better.
Now always use Hp. with S.ART3
Here another combo activate the Super then(CDBxxHp.SuperArt3).
Try all this and I betcha it all works.I know what the hell im talking about.

no one said that “they will awake cancelling his super.”
the stuff you posted (in your first post) indicated that you will hit c. strong after a C&DB. AFTER the c. strong, the opponent will flip out of the induced juggle state and will therefor be able to either defend against your super by blocking or if they’re risky, by parrying it. if you don’t have a super handy and try to go for another C&DB (as you put in your first post), they can hit you before your C&DB comes out if their move has a quicker start up than yours. or they can just jump away or up to avoid it and punish your Q while he’s in C&DB animation.
but yeah, after C&DB if all you do after that is a super, then that’s completely viable. no questions there. and yeah, opponent CANNOT quickstand if all you do is C&DB without a hit after. but like i said a few times alread, your first post had a sequence of pseudo-juggles where you C&DB then hit -> C&DB again. that’s why i posted a clarification. no biggie :wgrin:.

Early it was sayed that you just cant throw a oppenent in the corner,this true.But naturally most of his attacks will automatically put you in the corner.example C&DB,RHA, and his throw.For the novice users, once you learn how to cancel all his moves. It will be much easier to get people in the corner. For the hardcore players Q also has some decent ground combos. Check this out

Note:Anytime you do his Ex.RHA the oppenent boouces off the wall leaving Q to attack again with HP,HK,RHA,etc.Also you can EX RHA only twice in a row.

Yeah it is happenin. Or you’re going to die. Statistically, high level matches where Q wins feature more taunts than when he loses.
Anyone who has played Q against at least decent competition can tell you if you don’t taunt you increase your chances of losing.

Yeah I have had time to go back and correct this error you can build defense with Q. But it isnt as easy as people say. Anytime you manage ton throw or catch someone with C&DB yes you should taunt.
