I’m pretty sure I have 8 points. If you could help me fix that GJ, thanks. And thanks for hosting this thing too by the way. great job so far.
Yeah, the top 10 on the side hasn’t been updated yet (sorry), but if you check the results it’ll show you the correct total points you have.
You guys make very excellent points. Thank you for the suggestions, I will incorporate them next time around. From experience, it’s a lot more consistent and easier to maintain. I just figured this current format would have benefited everybody, given that most of you have quite busy schedules and having the flexibility to play 2 or 3 people at your convenience would be better than 2+ hour sessions on a given day. I know most of you are doing your best to get your matches done day-in and day-out. I appreciate that and give thanks to you. Not sure how often everyone checks the forums, but I’ll probably mass message players next time to give them a heads up.
I had originally planned different formatted tournaments each weekend for extra points but the idea was scraped because of situational conflicts. I’ll see if I can find a way to put something like that back in next time.
I don’t know who any of you are, but I somehow know that Langis Langley and his associated SRK user which shall remain nameless also sends out a big “thank you” for organizing all of this. I bet he feels like he’s learning and improving, and having fun.
I will use my mind meld with him (is that a thing?) to relay the message… done. Even though I don’t know him. Who are you people?
Shit. I REALLY gotta check hdr forums more often… I always just go to the ST thread and forget about here… Hope I don’t miss the league reset
Possum & DNGR - Let me know what time you guys can play today…I believe today is our last day to do our matches…
Possum 3 to Baklakiller 0. GG’s man, they were all really close and the match-up is way in my favor.
I’ll try to catch Blitzfu in the morning (used to run into him in the late mornings all the time). Looks like he hasn’t been on in a few days.
If you’re on this morning, reply to this post and I’ll jump on. Or let me know when you’ll be on.
Sorry, I got busy this morning with the kids and some other stuff, you were off when I finally got on. If you see this now I have just a little bit before I have to go to work and could maybe sneak the games in, if not I should be home tonight by 11:00 PM EST, I’ll try to jump on as soon as I get home.

beasting!
don’t think i saw anyone all week i was supposed to play, and it looks like there’s only a couple hours left. gg’s to all. i’ll keep an eye on the thread for season 2, but i think we need a major recruitment drive first lol.
thanks for all the hard work you’ve done
@ etkelley: sent a friend invite on XBL last week to play our match. If you can play before the deadline in 30 mins, accept and send me a message (Langis Langley) on XBL. I’ll be monitoring the account.
@ slyry56: I sent an XBL message last week, didn’t hear back. Not sure if you were waiting to see me on or were busy; apologies if the former (I was waiting on a message back, as I’ve been busy and haven’t logged onto XBLA in a bit, other than xbox.com to check messages), no worries if the latter. I’ll be monitoring messages tonight; holler if you can play.
… Is what I would have said if I were Langis Langley, who I totally am not.
mad possum 2
Blitzfu 1
GGs man.
So, I have an idea for the league (or, rather, I’m proposing we steal an idea). Way back before HDR (or even GGPO) a bunch of us ST Kaillera players used to have thing called Super Sundays. Basically it was two hours every Sunday where a bunch of players tried to gather and play as many matches against each other as they could get in. You got points for wins and they kept track of how many points everyone had. They basically had everyone join a chat room to set up matches, which would be easy enough on XBL and PSN (and it got easier for Super Sundays once 2DF (now Supercade) came out with lobbies). People who were waiting on matches could play in casual rooms (side bonus: we could have some great player rooms going).
Now SS just had everyone play matches with whoever they wanted, I think we should do everyone tries to play once against everyone else who shows up once (there was a bit of people cherry-picking matches sometimes in SS and I think it’s better for everyone to level up by playing all the different characters/players). We could do mains only, or you can change characters once you lose (probably better).
They also had a system where they had some formula where if a more established player played a newer player there would be a handicap. Like if BTC played one of the newer guys, BTC would have to win 8 games to win and the new guy would only have to win 2 (I had a few 10-1 splits I had to win). They would adjust the formula with the rankings throughout the season. On the one hand that would be good for both the better players and the newer ones, the better player would get more of a challenge and the newer players would actually have a chance to win and get some points instead of getting blown out all the time (which would lead to discouragement and people quitting) while they worked on leveling up. It could help grow the community. But the downsides are that it overly complicates things and you know how egos can be around here sometimes (why is he ranked higher than me? etc). At least starting out the egos could be bruised, after a few weeks you would earn your handicap (base it solely on league rankings).
I could go either way with the handicap idea, but with this type of league it would be the same time every week, you don’t have to show up every week (you don’t even have to stay for the full two hours, just pop in, play as many as you can, pop out). Plus it could lead to lots of awesome casuals as well, especially if we got a lot of people to join. It also doesn’t require anyone to be there every week to run, everyone just gathers and plays everyone else and can report their win totals to a thread like this one after it’s over. Very low maintenance.
Just need to make the XBL and PSN leagues different times (maybe stagger them by one hour) so the people with both can play in both (help keep numbers on both sides higher).
What does everyone think?
I like the idea of having a schedule day for everyone to meet up, play a couple hours…Maybe we can even do Danisen Ranking system…That way the more you play, you can level up your ranking, if you cant make it, doesn’t affect your ranking…This also allow people to compete with their own level, while having casuals in case you cant play anyone at your level…haha am i even making sense
I would do this Sunday thing most Sundays. I want to play more. I want to get better.
Whoever I am.
remember that one match we had ??? 1st round perfect, 2nd round perfect, third round double ko…WTF honda stands up lol.
You know what the problem with the points sistem we used back then was ? ALL MY MATCHES WERE 10-1. I dont care how good you are lol. You cant win 10-0 ALL THE TIME lol. Man we should have a SS reunion event.
is this still happening?
