Digimonemporer, why on earth were you made? Most of the tekken players play some kind of SNK (some play KOF or SS). STL never holds tourneys and no one in STL LIKES YOU!! Stop hyping shit.
P.S. Does STL make fun of you on srk and zaibatsu? LOL!
Desmond Delaghetto- KOF XII tourneys? omfg be serious.
The long awaited podcast with MrBlasty and DandyJ on Columbus Bar Battles Gaiden is here. Not only will you learn all there is to know about Cbus Bar Battles, but you also get to hear what MrBlasty and DandyJ really think about the fighting game community at this point in time. Enjoy!
I love hearing the KOF stuff. I’m starting to feel like with dreamcancel and this podcast that there is actually a recognizable community forming. Thanks!
Dark Geese is here to discuss the Mexican and Latin American KOF scene. He also goes into the Raging Storm tournament series and what the USA KOF scene needs to do to up their game.
@Adam: Thanks for the suggestions! Option 1 was one of my frontrunners.
Was cool…until he blames the people smoking weed for those dying in Mexico. I don’t even know anyone that likes the shit from Mexico. Everyone is buying the stuff from the west coast and Canada. Most of the stuff consumed here is grown here. So much so that the cartels are beginning to grow theirs in the national parks in Cali. Which they wouldn’t really be able to do, if it were legal. There wouldn’t be enough demand.
What do you mean when you say band together? Collaborate on an event? That’d be pretty cool.
I think, overall, the Midwest tournament scene is getting larger and better.
Jan - Mar: Frosty Faustings is probably the front-runner here in terms of size. Columbus Bar Battles is growing quickly. Just about every other state in the Midwest is having some sort of monthly or other tournament in these months. But we could do with one more bigger event, maybe in March for those people who cannot travel to Final Round.
Apr - Jun: UFGT will be the front-runner, most likely. Columbus Bar Battles may also have an early summer presence and that’s exciting. PowerUp is still growing into a very good event, and that makes me proud. Again, the monthlies are everywhere but I can’t think of anything else that’s large. I think, maybe, Aerial Rave is during these months, right?
Jul - Sep: Columbus Bar Battles could again step up to host something. We could do with some other big event here, though, especially in the western Midwest states. Good thing is there are still plenty of monthlies and organizers to tap in to for potential events.
Oct - Dec: We have SB in here. Definitely a premier event for the Midwest. Last year, Focus Fire was very good from what I heard and saw, but they’re planning on moving it to a more warm-weather month. While it would be nice to have December stuff, with the weather what it is in the Midwest, that can be difficult.
Most of the bigger events are from Illinois and then east to Ohio. I think just about every other state in the Midwest has the potential though, and I’d really like to see big events in Kansas, Iowa and Wisconsin.
Very true! Minnesota is being shown lots of love. The GNGC will continue to grow every year, I’m sure. I’ll admit I’m not too familiar with the GNGC, so what was the out-of-state turnout like for the most recent one?
And of course there’s no counting out Raging Storm!
To be honest, we don’t really have TOO many out-of-state players, GNGC 1 had probably some folks from WI and Iowa, and probably some players only from WI for GNGC 2 but the local turnout is pretty enormous.
Btw, is there more people lined for KOF centered podcasts?
No KOF interviews lined up in the near future. February might already be booked, but I’m going to have to wait and see. Probably will have two episodes in March to end Season 2 before PU2011.
