PowerUp 2011 - EVO 2011 Tournament Season Qualifier - Cincinnati, OH - April 29-May 1

Whoops i read it wrong lol, I thought mvc2 was mvc3.

He’s arriving Friday.

Ah, well he will be just fine. No worries

Will you also be attending?

EDIT:

We have another feature to announce at PU2011. ZAP and Barzaad from Indianapolis will be running a Money Match Station just like the one present at the recent Naptown Clutch event, which they both had a hand in organizing. So if you want your MM recorded and eventually posted up on YouTube, let Barzaad and ZAP know what’s up.

Also, I just received confirmation that UltraDavid will be coming to PU2011 to compete and lend his excellent commentary to our stream!

Looking forward to it!

Yesss ultraaadavidddd!!!

I can’t attend b/c i’m flying to asia on some business but I have confirmed 2 top players from western Canada that will be going. I have already booked their tickets. I’m just waiting for a press release. keep you posted!!

Oh wow! Well thank you very much for doing that so they can attend PU2011.

The hype thickens…

Can someone Please pick up Noel From the Dayton airport
nvmmm

We will need a volunteer to bring Noel down from Dayton International on Friday. Otherwise it’s taxi, and I don’t even know if a taxi goes from Dayton Int. to Cincy.

Come on Dayton! Help him out : )

He has a Ride…Neverminnndd
can spectators pay in person?

@Andre: Right now spectators must also pay online or pre-reg in person at Arcade Legacy.

the person im riding with wont have any money till the day of and was wondering could she pay when we got there

@Quentin: There is to be no fist fighting at PU2011. Do so at your own risk.

@Andre: She can pay at the door, but it’s going to be $15 rather than $10.

I was going to wait a bit longer, but I’d like to announce that we will still be accepting emergency registration at the venue. Mandatory pre-registration doesn’t seem to be a very good motivator, and I’d rather not leave people out in the cold.

Prices are the same as they were: $30 for Venue Pass in person, $15 for Spectator Pass in person.

You will only have until 30 minutes before the start of a tournament to register for that tournament. Remember to take a look at the Final Schedule now posted at the bottom of the Event Details page. In person spectators may pay at any time during the event.

I would also like to mention a specific point to anyone who has ordered but not paid for their venue pass online. If you wait until you get to the venue to pay for your venue pass I will not honor the $20 rate; that rate is only for people who complete their order online before April 21st. You will know if you’re payment has gone through because your handle/nickname will appear on the Pre-Registration Listing.

So I hope that spurs some people to pre-register and see their orders through to completion. I hope it also quells the fears of anyone who may have thought they would have to miss the event because at-the-door registration would be unavailable.

Remember that we want to put on a good show for all of you, and the biggest part of that is making sure your bracket’s run smoothly and are seeded well. Pre-register now if you share that goal. Thanks : )

LOL haha. Just thought id ask so that everyone will know. : D

… so primetime… this is gonna be a fun weekend

If anyone wants to schedule a Money Match to be recorded dicuss your rules and stips with your opponent then pm me and i’ll put it on rotation… higher stakes warrant a more immediate place in the lineup… but any MM is worth recording presumably so just give me a holler in the msg box or on game day … Q, wanna run one back?.. then get drunk and go to mcdonalds?

last year Powerup was indeed full of ‘stolen’ pride… lots of grudges, rivalry, and plenty of lost money… so i wanna see plenty more of that… and remember a pride match isn’t a money-lessmatch

Ha! Sounds good we can run our SB5 money match back if you like. As for drinking i’m good. Not a drinker but I’ll definitely go hang lmao.

run it back or go for marv3l?.. which would you prefer?

big edit: just registered for MvC3, SSF4, and registered for 3S doubles with ZAP… i decided to use the name ‘Crescendo G.’ … just cuz i wanted to… i wanna see that pre-reg list with my name on it please… but you might wanna keep jane at the top, that’ll get you a few players … question 1: can spectators play games?.. like casuals and the arcade cabs?.. and question 2: if i wanna enter GG like next week can i just do another checkout?..

edit2: … it sucks that Andre already snatched up Truehood for marv3l teams… damn… is there gonna be onsite teams entry?.. come to think of it i can help out with teams wrangling… it gets ridiculous

@G: I’m sure Justin wants to be on the MM Station as much as possible, so see how many people you can get to challenge him, or some of the other special guests.

As for your questions: Spectators can play casuals and on the arcade cabinets, yep. And yes again, if you’d like to play GG just send another order with only GG purchased and use the same handle/nickname. And yep, we will now have on-site teams entry thanks to the Emergency Registration I posted on the bottom of the previous page. It will end for a tournament 30 minutes before that tournament is scheduled to start.

Arkayne will be selling two PU2011 poster variants at the event. I’d like to gauge interest before deciding on a final print number.
