Heads up to anyone considering donating TVs/Systems/Games to PU2011.
If you get onto the TV/SETUP Incentive List, you will be able to participate in the donor raffles to be held on Saturday and Sunday. These are separate from the normal event raffles, and you’ll still be able to participate in those as well!
This also goes for all you wonderful people who I’ve asked to be on staff. There will be staff only raffles on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and you’re still eligible for the event raffles and donor raffles. But, no matter who you are, you can only win one raffle.
I had read about this idea in the UFGT7 thread, so thanks, Keits!
im gonna vote for marvel however there might be problems especially with 3v3 when it comes to partnering up strays. the cast list isnt very big for a 3v3 game so there are probably gonna be same character issues. with a game like super 4 its a little easier to have character variety with only one character being picked. but taking character lock away could lead to sentinals every match although i hope not.
We should do a podcast detailing the perfect fighting game. Maybe multiple episodes with different players’ opinions. Get those design documents ready!
But we can talk about what each player wants in their perfect fighting game : )
With all the new games coming out, I sometimes wonder if there is going to be a glut and quality is going to fall off. This is probably a conversation best saved for the PowerUp Podcast thread, though XD
MK9 is shaping up to be one of the most hype tournaments at PU2011.
For those interested, the PU2011 T-shirt has been changed. I got the first print proof and decided that the first logo wasn’t cutting it, so I changed it around and made something I think myself and the rest of the staff will be more proud to wear. Same goes for anyone pre-ordering a shirt. Here’s the updated pre-order shirt preview, and here’s the updated staff shirt preview.
Big thanks to my gf for her design input.
The shirt previews don’t really do the logos much justice, so here ya go:
Only have MK9 left to do. I’ve found some decent art samples, but not for all the characters. If anyone knows of a good resource for MK9 character art, let me know, thanks : )
MvC3 Singles is starting on Sunday so we avoid any overlap with SSFIV brackets, and so we can then use the entire SSFIV area (about 16 setups) for MvC3. That said, I’m not opposed to starting MvC3 Saturday evening, but it would probably have to wait until around 5-6pm, once SSFIV brackets have thinned a bit and setups are freed up.
If people are comfortable with a start time around then, I can consider it. However, I have full confidence that MvC3 will start and finish on Sunday in a timely manner.
On that note, we still need donations of systems/TVs/games to fill out the TV/SETUP Incentive List: remember that you get $10 off the venue fee for bringing one TV and system w/ any game(s) we need for all 3 days. Additional TVs and systems get you extra discounts. AND you’ll be entered into the Donor Raffles.
March 14th has come and gone. 3v3 voting is finished. MvC3 3v3 wins with a score of 9 to 6!
Pricing will be the same: $5 per person
Rules:
*No duplicate characters out of all 9 selected.
*Character locked.
*Losing team may switch player order.
