O___O…That is actually VERY practical with Nova Dorm Strange as I look at it. Any Nova BnB that can end with an S xx TK Super Nova can DHC into Stalking Flare and if timed right, it will have that same 1 hit juggle effect and should give you time to tag in Strange.
i wish my team had flashy combos that build meter instead of practical TOD combos that burn meter!
KOing Thor w/ 2 bars with my Nova team. End result is -0.3 meter gain. Rocky had to use 3. Not bad but still impractical. Silly 5 bar Spencer combo. Spencer has enough vids killing Thor the most optimal way possible.
Although I don’t agree with log trap on that team, that was fucking OD.

i am having trouble to find a character that supports nova and pairs with vergil which is my anchor and favorite character. strange i never considered because i dont like the character and doom’s playstyle is just boring for me so i picked sent but i am not really successful with this team nova b sent a verg y. i really fell that nova relies on beam assists and i cant make this team nova b /_ / vergil y. any tips?
Unfortunately, with the lack of assist options that hold synergy together, your only other options are Iron Man and Taskmaster. Iron Man will over a strong DHC and TAC infinites and Task offers…less dead weight lmao…Task gives you really good DHC and a strong assist for Nova. Task Vergil is also an okay shell.
Stop with the not wanting to play Doom mentality. I assure you, learn Doom…and you’ll learn to like the character. He’s just that much worth playing. Also, Nova/Vergil/Doom is an insane Nova team. Any kill leads to an unblockable incoming setup with Vergil+Nova assist. You do an infinite for example by using rapid slash and TACing to Doom, end your combo and sphere flame to swords incoming, delay, call Nova assist, unblockable. They literally have to push block perfectly to escape it.
LEARN FUCKING DOOM.

How is Nova/Dorm/Doom? Are there any professionals out there that run this team?
It’s a team I think some people have talked about. I personally like it. I think it’s great. DHC to Dorm is OP for Nova and Plasma Beam compliments both Nova and Doom.
Falcomist plays it. It has good things about it, but it has its weaknesses.
Those being,
though Nova/Dorm is a great duo. Nova doesn’t take advantage of Dorm’s assists. The benefit of having two neutral assists is amazing. Hence the reason I don’t necessarily like Nova/Spencer either though that gives you TOD. Just like Nova/Dorm does.
Dorm/PlasmaBeam isn’t as good as Dorm/Missiles. Dorm with Beam is probably A tier, but Dorm with Missiles is S. Unfortunately, Nova doesn’t take advantage of missiles as much as Plasma Beam. That’s the largest inherent weakness. Dorm was to buy time. With Beam, you have to play a little stronger.
If you’re not set on Doom, I’d recommend trying Nova/Dorm/DoctorStrange. Bolts provides Nova with non-stop pressure, and it also provides Dormammu with a slightly stronger neutral assist since you can use it to buy time. You do, however, lose the benefit of rawtagging to Doom after air throws.
I’ve seen some combo somewhere on youtube Nova effectively using Purification as a combo extender. Anyway, since the synergy of Nova/Doctor Strange seems pretty good, is Nova/Doctor Strange/Doom a good team? Or the other way around?
I personally think Bolts and Missiles can work. Or if you’re one of those people that prefer to switch assists on Doom depending on matchups, you can also do EoA and Plasma Beam. I would prefer Strange 2nd since his super tracks so you won’t have to worry about DHC. But that’s just me.
Yeah, I’ve actually made some pretty sick combos using purification assist. But like I said, it’s not a neutral assist. It’s only for extending combos. Nova/Strange/Doom would be a great team as well.
You lose a bit of damage compared to Doom for sure, but you can still rawtag to Dorm after an air throw, otg and bolts into a combo. I labbed this team tonight on a whim and I love it, took it in an online set and had a lot of fun.
Also, I’m curious, what setups/combos do you have with Purification? I’m using Dark hole right now just to make blockstrings up close more positive, but tower stuff sounds a lot more interesting.
Long time lurker, first time poster! Either way I have a question for you guys. Been playing Nova since day 1 of UMVC3 and I have ran many team compositions to find the perfect one for me and I have found Mags/Nova/Doom to work the best for me. I want to ask your opinions on Mags/Nova because I kind of skimmed through some of the posts and read how some people were not feeling Mags paired with Nova was not very optimal. I went to the Mags thread and could not find any posts about Nova with Mags either :\ either way I just want your guys opinions?
