Between myself and the GameDude owner we’ve got over 100 cabs with almost as many unique and original boads plus console conversion kits that we play every day for a living.
The top link is to my wooden home-made cab. Unfortunately MAMEWorld is down at the moment, making it hard to share photos of the build.
The second link is to our shop where we sell imported brand new LS-Sound-29 candies (we don’t make these ourselves, obviously). We wanted to sell candies in Australia, but didn’t want to jump on the second-hand bandwagon. There are already enough people here doing that, so the market is saturated.
These are Super-Neo-29 replicas, and the 29" monitors are superb. The picture quality is so damn sharp I really was gobsmacked when I saw them. I’ve got a Kortek (Betson to you US kids) 26" at home which I did a cap-kit on, and I though that was nice and clear. These 29" units (LG tubes, Sampo chassis) put anything I’ve seen in the last 10 years to shame (beats the 2nd hand Nanao we’ve got out the back, and that’s saying something).
I’m hanging out for when we get out console->arcade converter kits in, and I’ll be dragging my PS2 into the office for some 3S and MushihimeSama on these gorgeous screens.
Definitely looking dated compared to the stuff I play with these days, but it still holds a place in my heart. It’s got a VGA monitor in it, so I’ll be converting it across to a DreamCast machine soon, and moving all my MAME stuff to a Candy most likely. Good fun.
