I have explained too many times why the back up stories are not in the TPB. And I think most of you agrees with me on that decision. If someone (including our deal friend Time_Stop) missed the point, go back and find some of the old posts.
The Newtype story is done mainly on a collaboration/promotional purpose, to introduce the fans of the Newtype Magazine who are not necessorily comic readers to the SF comic. Because the distribution of the NT magazine is much broader than any comic, we believe that it might capatilize on that readership base.
Same thing goes with the GamePro preview insert and the Exclusive Sagat 4 pager.
Yes, we are running a business here. While we LOVE SF as much as any of you guys here, we have to make sure that financially this project is afloat. Bottomline is, as much as we enjoy it, THIS IS OUR JOB and this is how we make a living.
GamePro wasn’t all that bad. It sucks now…
But then again, ALL game mags suck now.
All game mags are nowadays are 100 +/- pages of ads for games with completely biased reviews hyping up the latest big game for people to buy.
And ever since the advent of the internet, the “news” in game mags are about 6 months behind. Sometimes more.
Back in the day (back when Udoneko 
wrote for the mag), GamePro was pretty good.

YEah, Magazine business is harder and hartder to run nowadays, coz the Internet always beats them to the punch on releasing the newest info. I guess that is why they have to do a lot of cross promotions and deals with the game companies in order to get the content they need in advance. It is all about politics. Too bad, but the internet does makes life easy for some and hard for others…
