Reminder: This isn’t a democracy. Player input is valuable but we will do what’s best for Evo attendees given all the aspects of the problem. Right now we’re trying to figure out if the “Man up” option is even possible without literally running through the night.

24 hours straight of SF4? Thats hype.

The only problem I could see with this is people sleeping through games when their name is called and missing matches.

Is that due to space limitations or number of available setups? I’m sure a lot of srk members, myself included, would be willing to bring whatever we could to help out, especially if increasing that number will allow us to Man Up.

Running 24hr pools would be dramatic over-the-top insanity. There is no other option than this.

I agree with man up, especially if people from SRK are willing to donate setups to alleviate some of the time constraints of running pools.

Any merit in splitting up the tournament to allow pools to be run two days?

i vote man up, i’d totally be willing to have a 5am pool… 'sides, if there’s that many people competing, then that many ppl should have thier fair shot…

Been saying it and made two threads about it in the SFIV forum.

1 match, 3/5 rounds, double elimination. You still get two chances.
Doesn’t japan do the same thing for SBO qualifiers because there’s too many people? It doesn’t ruin the experience. The best of the best still win, except it’s single elimination.

its evo…the ONE tournament everyone makes sure they can go to every year…capping it would be a horrible idea ESPECIALLY the first year sf4 is here…there will obviously be a ton of people where this will be their first evo and to deny them that because of a cap would just be a disaster imho

as much as i dont like it, it seems Pools 1 game, 3/5 rounds, double elimination might be the best option, i would like the man up one but, people don’t have that type of time to play or wait

if my round was estimated sometime around 4am in the morning, i be scared that i might get DQ for not being at the spot 24hrs all the time, same thing happened at final round, and that only had 250 entries, i hope you guys have blue tape around the gaming areas were spectators can’t pass, players need room to play

all i can says is, thats gonna be a big pot for 1st
