Greninja is water dark, so the grass starter is probably fighting. Fighter mage thief was the comparison I saw on another site.

Apparently water shuriken is a 15 bp multihit move with priority. Something with technician or skill link needs to get this. Hopefully Greninja will get one as a secondary ability. I’m feeling a technician set with SD, Shuriken, Beat Up, Filler.

Hard to say without knowing his EVs or IVs. When the players get to the part where EVs and IVs are visible or whatever then I’ll let you know.

There were some rough calcs on smogon for stats on the fire and water starters. Both look solid competitively, so movepools and secondary abilities will probably be the deciding factor.

The fire one’s stats are something like 70/70/75/105/100/105
The water one’s stats are similar to Sceptile. The leaker grinding his guy up might have skewed the stats, though.
