Ninja’d by locoghoul. Also Ghost types are guaranteed to run from wild battles.

They’re also immune to trapping, so you could’ve just had a Ghost take care of the Dewpider hordes so you could still be able to switch if you needed to.

Wingull is base 85 speed, Snorlax is base 30.

Of course Snorlax ain’t running from most battles.

THE 'ROAR BE CHOPPING THROATS LIKE RIC FLAIR! WOOOOO! (Throat Chop is awesome.)

I just got to the second island. Where is ten carat hill?

I always thought running had to do with level. Why would you try a giant that’s about to OHKO you with a body slam?

On the first island, in the cave near Kukui’s lab.

If you are planning on soft resetting legends this link might be helpful:

Po was right this MG Munchlax doesn’t look all that appealing. Metronome, Hold Back, Happy Hour and Tackle–Metronome…I’m not down for random ass explosions. Well, it gets Thick Fat at least.

Do you need an HM Slave for this game? I’m getting my copy soon!

HMs are gone, they’re just TMs now. Now you get to be carried by Machamp, The-Bodyguard-style.

Munchlax is pretty underwhelming initally, but the broken Exp Share is back so it doesn’t have to see a second of battle to level up. Once it evolves via happiness, which isn’t too hard, it starts pulling its weight very quickly since Snorlax’s stats are so much higher than anything else you’ll encounter for a while.

You know the best way around random Metronome is to give it Normalium-Z right?

Now you can do random Z-moves!

Can’t find it for the life of me. Must be blind or not paying attention.

After getting to the second island am I able to go back to the first? I want to go catch one

There’s a ferry that will take you back. Cave is west of Kukui’s lab. You need Tauros to smash your way in.

[details=Spoiler] Dat Professor Oak shirt. And I have a Rage Candy Bar already. I still want to punch that guy. Many times.

Munchlax comes with Hold Back, so you get a free False Swipe for the main story.

I just found out you can rematch Captain Ilima at his house in Hau’oli City before you take the Professor’s boat to Akala, and he brings out the Gumshoos and Smeargle to open a can. You get an Everstone for winning.

I also found out the reason these Totem/Captain/Hakuna boss fights are a bit tougher than the other games-- These dudes have positive natures, max EVs, and max IVs in their relevant stats… For example, the first fight with Ilima has his Yungoos with an Adamant nature, 31/15/31/15/31/15 IVs, and 252 EVs in both Defense and Special Defense, while his Smeargle is Hasty nature, with 15/31/15/31/15/31 IVs, and 252 EVs in both offenses.

The Yungoos is meant to tank a hit or two, wear you down with Leer/Tackle/Pursuit(for when you’re trying to reset your weakened Defense by switching), and the Smeargle has the Technician ability to boost its Tackle and a toss up of Leafage/Water Gun/Ember depending on your starter to light your ass up and finish you after Yungoos has worn you down.

I really must applaud GameFreak for giving the in-game trainers actual strats and the moves to catch your ass slipping if you get lazy and try to just steamroll with one or two over-leveled guys(which won’t happen without massive grinding due to the return of Gen 5’s experience mechanics handing out less EXP when your levels are even or higher than the opposing mons.

Just finished Sun. Not gonna say much about the story because spoilers, but it was definitely above average for a Pokémon game. Better than Gen V, IMO. This is by far the best Gen.

What I don’t like is how slooooooow everything in Alola seems to be.

It’s the Islands, man… Ain’t nobody in any hurry, including the Pokemon. Better get those Trick Room strats ready, or start carrying Speed Swap Ribombee. Oh, and there’s a lot to do still after the credits roll.

Nebby is dat dude. YOUR BAG CAN’T HOLD ME, WOMAN!

Wishiwashi with the Amomola assist caught me off guard.

Just an FYI for those who may not know, but Munchlax and Snorlax have a 100% chance of holding Leftovers. So no need to spend precious BP buying it at the Festival.

I am about to take on the league. This game has been quite pleasant and difficult. Better than most of the games I can remember in recent memory. I hope the Elite Four is strong.

Finally got thick club for my Marowak and that thing makes a difference in marowaks ability to fight.

Maybe it’s me but I feel like GF got lazy right before your last “challenge” on the last island. I am underwhelmed by Malibu’s most wanted/Heel John Cena aka team skull. Just seem like a bunch of white boys wanting to be Eminem (Pokemon trainers) but realizing they are worthless.

Any who I am about to smash me some Elite 4 pussy. Primerina is probably the best starter other than inceroar to go through the game since it seems like they have the least general weakness to be exploited by the challenges. Just from my observation. Maybe one of you rowlett users could give me some insight on if you think otherwise.
