Pokemon General Discussion Thread - It's Lit(ten)!

I always called Lando T Mufasa but Tigerzord? I’m considering that change.

Yeah I got to admit, that was good. I think I’ll have to name my Lando-T that too whenever I decide to go hunting.

Anyway, my first attempt at a team with what I have.

Mega Gardevoir (always my first priority for a team)
Scarf Terrakion
Defensive Gastrodon
AV Conkeldurr
Utility Scizor
Specs Dragalgae (part because I wanted to try the thing, the other part being it seems to fill some holes)

Team does decently enough at neutralizing Lando-T’s switch ins outside of Terrakion. Dealing with him once he’s out though might be an issue.

dude think about what you are saying for a sec. At least try it out. I don’t see you “throwing WoW left and right” when you are getting walled hard everytime you switch. What are you switching into is also another question.

So…does that mean Bisharp is gonna stay a power ranger or does he get demoted to Alpha?

sigh Alright fine. I’ll relent. You’re a better teambuilder than me anyone so I really should be taking your advice.

well just use it to test it first. Then depending on your style make EV changes or movesets. You can also feel the meta and adjust accordingly. At this stage is not so much about the team itself, is the way you play. Play out one team and learn about double switches, predictions, game plan, hazard control, etc.

Well so far it’s weak to status as expected, and it’s also terribly weak to Clefable. Scizor doesn’t count as a decent check or counter because every Clefable in existence runs a Fire move and Clefable definitely sees enough play that it has to be respected.

(is still trying to think of something that would make Delphox worth using)

How do you still problems with Clefable when you have Specs on Adaptability Dragalge and Dragalge itself has great Special Defense and the distinction of being the only non-Mega, non-Uber Dragon that isn’t weak to Fairy? Inquiring minds want to know.

Oh. Wait. You’re talking about the team Locoghoul suggested I’m guessing then, right?

ewwwww…scarf terrakion? you’re betting off using banded terrakion but you are already using specs dragagle and i personally think double choice items are bad this gen unless one of them is talonfucker

you have adamant tflame, i’d try that over terrakion, you dont’ need both terrakion and conkeldurr and i think conk fits better on the team

i really dislike gastrodon, it is set up bait for so many things but with what you have…you have nothing to replace it so i guess it stays

Get hype bitches!

HA Johto starters are being given out to Pokemon Bank users at the end of the month…

Is there a Physical Wall that ISN’T set up bait these days outside of Lando-T?

I do agree that Terrakion isn’t doing shit though, which is sad.

But I think I need to rebuild the team over again. Too weak to Lando-T and I think every team needs something to deal with him since nearly every team runs him for obvious reasons.

^ Hippo, Skarm, Swampert, Mandibuzz from the top of my head.

there are:

hippo
gliscor
alomomola

they can actually do something back and are usually not 2HKO’d unlike gastrodon who can’t even take on terrakion

Then whats stopping me from using Gliscor again?

Sheer force Feraligtr nice!!!

nothing but yourself

I was never against using Gliscor…he was the first pokemon I bred and first on the list I had.

Here is the team I came up with. I really wish your Rotom was Bold so I could make it a Tflame check but w/e it can at least absorb status for you and check a good amount of special attacks.

http://pastebin.com/0eqVWrbb One change Skarmory can have spikes/brave bird over stealth rock or Mamo can have icicle crash over SR.

Well I can always breed up whatever I need. I just wanted to make teams or whatever so I could stop breeding randomly.

But at the moment I’m just not in a good mood right now. Just got into a legitimate fight with my mother’s bf (now former bf), cops were called, and I want to legitimately kill something.

So I got a lvl 50 shiny salamence from Based Wonder Trade.

Nature: timid
Ability: intimidate
5ivs (hp/def/spa/sdf/spd)
Hyper voice
Fire blast
Ominous wind
Defog

It’s setup almost perfectly for a 252 spa/252spd choice Pokemon.

However… Defog is very rare for salamence. Rather than just dump it, I wonder about making it a defensive Pokemon. Can it be done?

This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:

I’m thinking…

Leftovers
252 spd 152 hp 104 def
Defog
Roost
Roar/tailwind/toxic
Hyper voice/Draco meteor
