Unless you’ve been banned to Ubers, Dragon STAB that isn’t point-and-click-retarded Draco Meteor isn’t worth it usually…
Only when you have a complimentary typing like Zard X or Garchomp(for which you use your other STAB more anyway), or are a single-Dragon type like Goodra*(and you use your other moves 90% of the time anyway)*, would you even consider a Dragon move.
Fairy-type did what it came to do for the most part, and nerfed those bastards right proper.

the problem with dragon wasn’t the typing, it was the stats. they’re still really good because they all have a BST of 600 (or more now). Kingdra still has pretty good stats, goodra is still decent (just has a lackluster feel to it sometimes), the others are just regular pokes. i still think fairy is a better typing than dragon but most dragons are really good because they are amazing besides their typing. ttar has a shitty typing and it’s still pretty good for said reasons
Kingdra was so awesome in GSC when Pokémon could max EVs in every stat.

You use it if you need to hit latios on the switch that is it really. Zard X uses it for neutral coverage.
Don’t fool yourself. It was the offensive typing, hence the nerf. The fact that Dragon was only resisted by one type, made it easy to spam as it wasn’t hard to have coverage against it, whether Fire Blast or Earthquake or both. In Ubers it got to a point where resisted hits would 2HKO. I feel like instead of granting immunity, Fairy shoulda just resist Dragon instead. Would have made it more fair, but this is Gamefreak we talking about

fairy immunity was a pretty direct way to deal with outrage (and choice dragons) imo. fairies have good defensive stats but the offensive power of those dragons still gave steels problems. now you don’t see outrage much at all, and fewer choice dragons.
