Well if it gets the flip of his sister’s stats Mega Gallade won’t be COMPLETELY out of it. STAB CC coming off of 165 Atk is…unpleasant to take. Wouldn’t have as much bulk as AV though so you might need to go for more of an straight offensive set going for Jolly (not a big deal, Jolly MegaLade hits harder than Adamant AV Gallade).
Good thing about Gallade as usual is it has access to damn near every Physical Attack you could want, and all the support you could ever need. Literally the only thing holding it back is that useless ability. Even in doubles I’d rather run other things. If they really want to Balance it for doubles, then it speed need to DECREASE.
I’ve always like Gallade, but in competitive play it’s been a glass-cannon with not enough speed to really make up for that.
Inner Focus isn’t bad, but nothing special when other Megas get Huge Power, Adaptability, and Magic Bounce. Still, it easily be my preferred mega evo after Flygon Mawile if it gets a good speed buff. Judging from the biblical cape that’s exactly what it’s going to get.
I like Mega Gallade’s design a lot. I just hope it gets a significant Def boost so it doesn’t get instantly owned by Suckerpunchers and +2/6 priority moves.
Being Specially defensive gave it a niche being able to switch on special attackers but its low Def meant even mixed attackers can wear it down.
It’s funny, but even Rivalry would’ve been better than Inner Focus.
Guys, I’ve got it! They gave it Inner Focus so you can Skill Swap it and get a better Ability!
Mega Kangaskhan wanna get uppity? Inner Focus through the Fake Out and steal its Parental Bond… Don’t NOBODY wanna take 2 Close Combats coming from a likely 160 Base Attack.
Pair it with a Haze user or Malamar to Topsy Turvy your Defense/Sp. Defense drops.
I’ve always liked Gallade, but could never really find a good team to fit it on. Will definitely see if I can find a spot for Mega Gallade, even if its ability is underwhelming it looks awesome. :3
