I always imagined Poison being a man in the Japanese guide book to be bit of insiders joke, poking fun at Capcom USA Turning her into a Dude for the US SNES version of Final Fight. I was a bit pissed off to see poison replaced by a man on the GBA version as well. She/He/It is a bit of a Capcom Icon I reckon.
Yikes, bumping this ol’ 2 year old thread, one of the most heavily debated SF storyline subjects that has nothing to do with the comic at all? I know we stray here and there, but after Capcom Classics Collection’s release I really don’t see any room for doubt here on this subject.
BTW, Sirlin who works for Digital Eclipse and is also a poster here at SRK, also confirmed that the bios on Capcom Classics Collection had to recieve approvals from Capcom of Japan, and he worked on the game himself. Poison’s bio in that game says that Poison’s a man, it’s in the English version and it’s there for everyone to see.
Read the first link/web address in my sig and look up Poison. Or go play/rent Capcom Classics Collection, beat Final Fight with any character and go read Poison’s bio. Poison’s bio from that game is in the first link in my sig if you don’t feel like playing that game. Poison hasn’t appeared in the SF comic yet and I see no reason to get into this ordeal again in the SF Comics Forum. If it still urks you, start a thread in the General Discussions Thread or something and be prepared to be flamed, because it won’t the first time this site has seen a thread on this subject and it won’t be the last.
