Just bumping this to point out a Clan Thread has been made: HERE
Sign up and use that thread for matchmaking. Lets keep this discussion to class, maps, and mode strategy. Read post #61 for yesterday’s updated roster and a possible way to get a 32-player SRK game to be just another day on Fat Princess.
Downloaded the game and from what I’ve seen I think the villager is kind of underrated.
It is just great for feeding up the princess fast and taking unprotected outposts. (anyone else like hiding behind one so that you can take it without passing enemys seeing anything?)
No point in me signing on to the clan thread because of timezone differences since I don’t see any other Brits or other Europeans on it yet.
Edit: Urgh, just ran into the connection issues HARD, had less trouble trying to get games in GOW2 and Chromehounds before the connection patch.
I’m having connection issues but I hope it gets resolved soon. The game is very fun and it reminds me of this one game on ps1 where you’re a police mech… can’t remember the name of it.
I’m playing around a lot with the classes to see what I like. Upgraded Ranger does HUGE damage… and warrior dash attack does a lot of damage and its fast!!!
I usually start out as villager and once 2 or 3 different classes are upgraded I start kicking ass!
The other team did this, as a group of about 5 or 6 of us catapulted into the castle looking for the princess, she was nowhere to be found. Believe me we scoured the castle and the indicator says she couldn’t be anywhere too far from her prison spot. I don’t know how they did it, but it was a nice technique. Why keep the princess in the prison cell where she can easily be found?
Also, having one person catapult into the castle with a bomb and throw. Then go over to the bombs from their side and get to throwing, the other team should be shaken from the wide blasts of bombs, that’s when the second wave jumps in.
Let’s see, there’s also bridge blocking. Two warriors with shields up occupy a bride, while a mage heals and archers attack. You can effectively stop a rush while your team catapults over.
Just some stuff I got from my few times of playing.
That happened to me once on the Candy Mountain level. You can definitely see the princess on the map, but but really visible. Took a minute or two before getting into a different game -_-
i was playing single player and find this pretty odd. I was playing on the volcano level like (lava comes up and down). The map was rescuing the princess and i grabbed her out of the castle, make my way to the center of the map where a pipe entrance opens when the lava goes down. I try to jump into the pipe but missed and died in the lava (me = fail). Here i’m thinking “fuck, the princess is gonna be captured again.” All of a sudden the princess was somehow thrown/placed to my castle side of the platform. lol and that made my dumb computer team picked up the princess, place her in her sit and won the round.
Is it just me or have you guys been encountering scrubs abusing the scoreboard by continuously picking up the princess, walk around in a circle, and return the princess for free points?
And I hope they patch the game soon so it doesn’t take a million years to join a game >.>
There is some interesting stuff you guys are discovering.
If she wasn’t glitched out, it’s very plausible to hide a petite princess behind something like an Outpost tower. The map with varying levels of lava comes to mind as hiding behind something (and wishing I had a lesser text rank) as a Priest is something I often try to do.
You seem to have a pretty strong grasp on group tactics. We’ve started an SRK clan that you may be interested in. See the OP for details.
yipini, I added you to the clan roster. Add some people on WC team and get invited to the srk_wc and fatsrk_np chats.
The bridge blocking tactic could possibly be very effective on Great Gorge. If you don’t build Castle doors with the Team’s initial resources, you can rush a group of Workers(At least 4 should rush to build quicker and occupy the space to get the Warriors into position), 2 Warriors, A few ranged damage dealers, and Priest to the Central Outpost. Worker’s should upgrade first as getting additional ranged damage for this setup is great. You should be able to completely stifle their advancement attempts and score a quick lead as the opposing team’s only metal resources will be coming from the one deposit in the middle of the map… and you could easily have a small team to harass enemy Workers here.
I believe the only way people can get past the Warrior’s shield blocking is to jump over them and attack from behind? Well they would just be jumping into charged AoE fire, flame arrows, and bombs. If you upgrade Worker, Mage, and Ranger first, they would probably never to get through the T2 death synergy of this team.
Arkayne17, clan support would make life so much easier. According to Titan Studios they’ve acknowledged the demand for it.
Titan Studios also acknowledged the demand for class balance? The only thing they have to fix is the point system with ice mage. The complaint is that ice mage can 1v1 every class in the game. I thought you can mash out of ice. And even if ice mage can 1v1 every class in the game, it would take forever for them to kill since their damage per second is low and it’s your fault for it even being a 1v1 considering there’s 16 players a team. I don’t see it. You even keep your charge if you’re frozen.
yea i encountered that for the first time yesterday. It was annoying playing with these idiots. Some guy with a mic was screaming his head off cuz they wouldnt drop her. We ended up losing the match because they kept removing the princess from the throne.
