Damn, DmC Dante looks even more combo crazy than Kratos lol. That’s awesome, he actually looks really fun to use. He was like… double air dash/ jump cancelling all over the place, I haven’t seen a character in the game move like that so far.
I wonder if his alt will be an oldschool Dante, that would be cool too.
They hated that you can die because of it. If you can’t die because of it in this game, I’m sure people would cry about it.
Dante’s style cancel stuff looks great. Also, they did more really creative attack design by essentially making square Sword Master and triangle Gunslinger with circle being miscellaneous finishers and other style attacks (like Royal Guard parries wooooooooo!). I like this approach to the controls that makes the characters feel even more like their original game, just like Heihachi has a punch and a kick button. More info from IGN.
Judging from the videos, falling off in an auto scroll level looks like is re spawns you while stunned. Which is practically like dying in this game.

I see so many people bitching about the new Dante being in the game, and I don’t like it either, since I’m still a fan of the old Dante and Vergil, but …
… people need to realize that Sony is running a business and selling you a product.
People won’t boycott this game, because the new Dante is in it, instead of the old, badass Dante. Sony is not afraid of missing that money, but Sony has the opportunity to make more money by inserting this version of Dante into the game.
They already did it before. This game is being published by Capcom. And Capcom developed and published Street Fighter X Tekken.
It should be pretty clear, that Capcom had some serious deal going on with Sony and they both made money, since the Sony Playstation was the one with the exclusive characters, the Sony Playstation 3 was the one with the extra mode to play online out of a local host, while the X-Box will never have that feature, for obvious reasons (simply to make the Playstation 3 more attractive.
And the Sony Vita is the one that offers you the entire content for less money.
Now Sony has the opportunity to make more money, simply by including this version of Dante and promoting the upcoming DMC reboot.
It’s not a bad decision at all. Sony probably prefers the old Dante as well, but with this one, they were able to make more money and for every single company that’s what counts the most: MONEY!

It would be cool if they would allow you to use your LBP2 costumes for sackboy.
If you notice in the various videos Sackboy takes on the appearance of one other random fighter for his level 1. Would be cool if they ported over the costumes from LBP for you to dress him up too.
I wonder what prevents spike from doing the banana peel throw into that stun move over and over. I definitely think the most fun format of this game is gonna be 2v2. Those longer combos sure are damaging and whatnot, but partners can come in and interrupt that shit, Gundam vs. Gundam style. I can’t wait to see footage of Raiden.
also, are the most recent vids supposed to have that “sfx and UI overhaul” they were mentioning a while back? seems… pretty much the same…
Built in infinite protection. Once you gain a certain amount of meter the opponent falls out for free.

Lightning is kewl, though I’d prefer Fang or Sazh. If we had to have an FF character, I’d like to have Zack. But honestly, I would support the game forever if they put Nier in. There’s not chance, I know, but still.
It’s gotta be someone from FF7-9, that’s the nostalgia PSX games, and their characters have the starpower this game is sorely in need of.
Lightning is like the John Leguizamo of FF Protags. She’s a cool character and people like her, but she gets put in the worst games…
