I totally agree. PS2 version is better then this heap of crap.
LOL. Random programmer.
You purchased an xbox for an xbox live arcade release of an old game? Whoever did this is an idiot.
I fail to see the “PS2 version is better” argument when 3SO basically IS the PS2 version, only with a rather horrendous online mode.
you guys seriously bitch too much
K scrubs.
Online is horrible, but I’ll still continue to play because I love this game.
Yeah, here we go again.
The same people screaming for a nonrebalanced version of 3rd Strike are now the ones who are refusing to play this version. Nothing will make them happy.
If having an exact replicate of the Arcade version (including original graphics) is that life or death to you, please go back to playing an emulated version of it or better yet, buy a CSP3 board.
But lets go through the arguments.

PS2 version IS NOT BETTER. If you truly believe that you need to shut the hell up about wanting an Arcade perfect port of this game. I agree that the super bars are weird and take some time to get use to, but I rather deal with that than have a game that was noticeably faster, had PS2 only glitches (Akuma’s forward+MP) and no netcode to speak of. Remove all the bells and whistles and this game is still a better port than PS2.

Original Xbox Live netcode IS NOT BETTER. If you truly believe this you are an idiot. Any of the old Xbox Live warriors will testify that this version is leaps and bounds better than the original Xbox Live Netcode. Unless you can’t tell the difference in your gameplay when you have a 2 second VISUAL delay from when you hit a button to when it registers. You’re complaining about a 1 to 2 frame delay? Yeah try 30 frames of delay or more and you’ll get an idea of what it was like playing this game on Xbox Live.
Give Capcom an opportunity to patch out the glitches.
But hey, if you truly think the PS2 version is better, please by all means continue to play that version.
Thanks for translating Boss thoughts.
Online really sucks, possibly the worst case ever. Fuck, it’s shameful.
But apart for online, guys what are your impressions for 360 version? I feel everything ‘heavy’ than arcade/ps2 version. Not sure if it is input lag or just my feeling.
According to this post: 3S:OE Input Lag Testing
The PS3 and Xbox360 versions have the exact same delay. Now they need to compare that to the actual arcade hardware board to see if the original board had any delay.
I have the x360 version and it runs very well for me online. I am east coast USA but can get good connections with everyone in North America and Europe. Of the 3 japanese players I’ve played one was playable, two were not. But my player pool is much larger than PC GGPO.
Inicdentally, I recently tried out AE on PS3, and as someone who has both X360 and PS3 I swore never to play on PSN again. Horrible experience in comparison to how well Xbox live runs for me generally. When I heard 3so would be online I knew that I would not bother with the PS3 version.
i was answering deviljins question. i dont care what games he plays.
lol you are pretty funny. thanks for you opinions.
thanks aku for the translation. im also using the exact same setup as boss. it took me like 20 mins to the do some simple trials. i even plugged in the ps2 and did they first or second try.
its not just the fucked up meters, its not just the horrible sound (necro?), its not just the awful netplay, its everything combined that makes this game a letdown.
if capcom can fix everything, then thats great. but weve all waited for 13 months for this game, and its pretty bad right now.
The only scrub here is you with your constant bitching in every single thread. What I said were not opinions but facts. Thats the difference between you and me. You bitch based on your emotions, I argue based on facts.
Ok I can agree with that.
The thing I was most impressed with was that the timing feels basically right. I’m really happy about that but it definitely seems different. I had some trouble doing stuff I never miss and wasn’t sure if it was just me being too used to emu at the moment or what. Hopefully all of these things are small enough that we can see a patch.
I’m not convinced on the damage. I think it’s just weird visually and throwing us off. I’d really like to see an option for original HUD.
As for the sounds they’re definitely a bit weird but I’m not sure if that’s just because the cps3 versions sounds were like truncated simplified versions of the ORIGINAL sounds or what. That sounds confusing but I imagine they often recorded stuff then lowered the bitrate and shit till they found a good balance for size vs quality to run on the cps3 board. So if they’re using other versions it would explain the weirdness. Also the stereo sound.
I’m hopeful they can turn things around, not abandoning it yet. The timing is great, it’s just everything else needs some work.
if you think this game has the worst online ever, then you have the worst network ever. Its you. Not the game.
Your avatar is extremely disrespectful.
The online has been light-years faster than SF4 or Marvel… to me at least.
play starcraft2, good game
No, I play WELL with every other fighting game.
Random teleports, rooms freezing, no search criteria for better connection/location, ranked totally random and so on. It’s not my network, it’s the online that sucks.
The game must run perfectly fine if you live in New York and no where else in the country, I have no idea what the fuck you guys are bitching about
ATTN:
Be sure to adjust GGPO smoothing to 0 for minimal input delay. Just reminding you guys in case a few of you didn’t.
