My recommendation to new players: Try online from what you’ve learned through playing the tutorial and read in the instruction book. Get a familiarity with how things are online in like a team mode or something. Look at what the players are doing to you and go "how does this work? how do you do that?"
This will sorta help you understand the physics of this game.

Learning defense is really important in this game. Things like grab breaking(press the grab button before the grab animation starts), killer weapon rolling(tap the killer weapon button before your third roll) and tactical roll from knockdown(tapping block button and a direction) help you survive even the toughest Japanese team battles.

Combos are juggles that the player cannot 360 attack or roll away from.
If you don’t think you can do the tough combos yet, do Heavy - Weak - mash on Killer Weapon Weak until your meter runs out. For more advance stuff, look at Tunneling’s guide in his forum signature and Boodendorf’s Youtube channel (Every person getting into online should look at his channel!). http://www.youtube.com/Boodendorf/

I may seem like a mean person in game (blame fighting Japanese team battles) but I always help those that ask.

Extra note: Survival puts me to sleep! I got every emblem I need from that mode so I see no reason to play it myself… Sorry to people that see me leave during those modes lol

You’re better off learning the basics first, go through practice mode with each of your characters and familiarize yourself with their move set and what each of them do.

Then check out my combo list in my SIG, it has some basic stuff for every character that you can start off with. Zero is a very easy character to start with, also very good.

(Zero’s ground BNB) W-*W-H-LKWx4 Translates to:

Square, Wait a bit, Square, Triangle, L2+Square 4 times.

Jump Canceling and whatnot is advanced for everyone except the females who can do it off a jab regardless. The best way to learn is through experience and unfortunately, anarchy reigns’ online community is not nice to online newbies.

Unfortunately there isn’t a compiled wiki of any sort, I sort of started a project but I have very little HTML knowledge so making a website that resembled anything neat would be next to impossible. I made one but it was just a prettied up version of my pastebin. Maybe it’d be a good idea to work on the official wiki or something, compile everything there.

This game isn’t the easiest to explain to new comers but i’ll try.

Sorry in advanced for any spelling or grammatical errors.

-Do not fight people just because you see them, choose your battles very carefully, reasons why:
They might be better than you or know infinites, or have items(you can start off with certain items if you have the right perk) or some cheap bullshit, or they might just get the upper hand and kill you.
Even if you kill them there is a good chance you’ll be out of a chunk of health, so you’re vulnerable and you have to lame it out until you regenerate some of it.
Find people already fighting, attack the person in the group with the lowest health or if they both have high health try to nail them both or find other people.
Find someone running around with health lower than yours, you have an advantage.
Try to find an immobilizing weapon like a tire or a sign post. When you run across someone else throw it at them and do a big damage combo or a KWH attack.

-Don’t 360 normal attacks unless you sure you’ll die if you don’t, if they hit you with a KW chain 3rd on the second to last hit, the second hit is the one people usually 360 on so good players know to stop attacks so they can punish, the 3rd or 4th hit of the KW chain(depending on character) will always be the most damaging so it’s best to stop them before they get to it. Depending on who you’re using you’re 360 attack might be good enough for you to be better off 360ing and eating a small combo or not being hit at all. It’s best not to 360 very often because it takes your health and you’ll leave yourself open most of the time.

-Learn the character’s killer weapons so you know when and how to deal with them, as well as how to use your characters. Like for the Rins their air light KW attacks are very good and you’ll probably use your meter on those the most, when Black Baron you’ll want to save meter for his KWH attack so you can punish or catch distracted people with it when the time is right, other characters have other uses and so on. Since you said Durga, he’s a little more versatile with his, he’s mainly about kill stealing and high damage combos, his KW has the most range out of the whole cast and does the least base damage. You’re going to want to use his light attack to steal kills or dizzy opponents who try to attack you from afar, his KWH has a good amount of armor on it so you can use it to trick players into attacks you with a light and end up catching them in a 35-40% damage animation locked attack. Once you figure out his combos(and his are really fun and kind of long depending) his air KWL(only 1, if you do it twice it won’t work) combos into his air KWH making it a great combo ender. His jumping KWL is also ideal for stealing kills when an oppenent has been hit with a hard knock down attack or grab. Although all of his KW attacks are projectiles, his charged KWH attack literally an aim-able cannon and is very good for stealing kills on distracted enemies, and this skill is amplified even more with killjoy.

-Learn as much cheap shit as you can, this game is broke, but in the best way, there are infinites, bugs, glitches, and all sorts of bull shit things that anyone can pull off, its fair game and there aren’t any rules. You may want to stay noble and play “fair” but this is Anarchy Reigns and you gotta be ruthless if you want to win.

-Learn how to tech grabs or you’re fucked.

-Don’t use Jack until you get good, Jack is for pros because he’s so damn ass you have to know how to play the game before you even try to do anything with him.

-Learn how to bait, counter, and predict 360 attacks.

-Dodging is more important than blocking, there are many ways to keep dodging consecutively well over three times, like tapping the KW button, or waiting a second or two between dodges, or using cheap as hell master evader.

-Never, never, ever punish a dizzied opponent with a grab, ever. Hit that bitch with a KW attack and if you don’t the meter hit them with a heavy(the launcher for all characters except Big Bull) and try to keep a juggle going until you build enough meter for at least a light KW attack.

-The simplest high damage universal combo is H(heavy), H while rising in a jump, KWH while in the air directly after the rising H. The computer can tech this but no human player can, its a glitch or some shit.

-KWH will shatter anyone’s guard and dizzy them if they block it(but it can still be dodged) so if you catch someone blocking and not dodge or they cant dodge because they’re being locked down, hit’em with a KWH so you can open them up.

-In all team games, stick to at least one team mate so you don’t get jumped.

-In team battle protect the damn leader, and if you’re medic press the KWH button when a respawn marker appears next to you so you can revive a teammate and get points.

-Avoid Bayonetta at all costs, do not attack a Bayo player head on because she is broken and over powered as hell.

-Don’t chase after one person for too long, if you cant catch them then you’re just wasting your time, time you could be spending killing people you can catch.

-Try to get as many end of the game bonuses as you can, things like killing the most NPCs or using the most items are the easiest.

-Play cheap as all fuck.

Just some really basic stuff that I follow, i’ll add more if I think of something.

I hope those tips I gave actually help/helped some people.

Yeah idk what that was all about lol. Don’t get me wrong he is one of the best players but like you don’t need to announce that as you say something. If you really want to read the drama it becomes a soap opra around page 10 i would say. If you think top 10 guy was bad wait until you see about "The Goddess"
Anyways xbox isn’t always like that and people will probably still be around until you get a copy(if you do.)

I have an xbox and live, I might just pick this up for 360 and have both copies.

I’m gonna get a PS3 styled 360 controller before hand though because I fucking hate the 360 controller for anything but shooting games.

If I had I good team then yeah I’d get the fuck back in there. Most of the morning it was just me with some randoms vs other people and their invited friends. Now if I’m Spec Ops I don’t give a fuck. I go in then. Why not? That’s your purpose. If I’m leader? Nope, especially if my team sucks compared to the other one. I’m staying away and laming it out if it’s tied.
