Platinum* Games new game. Anarchy Reigns

This KW cancel makes Jack a lot more bearable to play. He still has a ton of issues but I feel really good using him now.

So far with this KW cancel stuff I’m studying the dizzy system, seems random but I think I’m on to something…

If a LKW clashes/is stuffed by a jab, then the user of the LKW is dizzy state…

The on the ground animation where character kicks feet up stuff anything and causes dizzy state(I think this also deals with KW clash)

I think if a heavy attack stuffs a HKW attack, the user of the KWH is put in a dizzy state…

There has to be some correlation between the light/heavy normal attacks and dizzies because ever since I started using the glitch with Black Baron(canceling jabs into more jabs), my dizzy rate has gone WAY up…

Yo I’m getting used to this cancel(I like the Twitch naming btw), but I’m real slow to figure out what’s the better use. What do you recommend for Jack?

The ground Jab infinite is pretty good for pressure and baiting 360s, but Jack’s best tool is his shift combo. Two jabs > shift > KW cancel > Launch into bnb helps his game out immensely and finally gives him a way to convert jabs into real damage. You can also mix it up by using his shift combo and then canceling it into more Jabs. Most people aren’t scared of getting hit by Jack on the ground so you can convert into this combo a lot. It’s so funny when people don’t 360 because “lol Jack” and then they get launched and lose 80% or die.

It’s all based on timing dawg.

Doesn’t matter what you used, any attack can stun/trade with anything. (as far as I’ve tested)

Gonna make a vid about stuns/trades next to explain how it works soon. For now uploading a vid to show some loops.

Yay for slightly better quality!

Someone go pick Zero and test this: launch > light > [initial lean attack > shift > heavy > KWC > launch > AA > air light] and see how many reps you get. Should be an easier alternative to the single jab relaunch loop, but I don’t know since I still can’t do any of these cancels (and don’t play this game enough anymore).

So I went 14-0 in TDM earlier.

Think about that, 14 - 0 in a mode with a maximum of 20 kills, that means I got every kill except 6 and I didn’t die once.

Thats what happens when both your team and opponents are ass.

You gotta hold block to do them cancels btw, I’ll try it but I don’t think I’m nice enough to do all that yet…

While holding block, you just tap the KW button release, and immediately press the attack that you want to come out(light/heavy)… it’s real easy to do on a basic scale but integrating it into large combos is tough…

You guys just keep finding new shit. Amazing.

I actually found a new douglas combo just now.

PP -> H -> KW canceled AA -> Air P -> (might be possible to relaunch here too) air KWL -> air P -> KWL -> KWL

Zero has everything.

Air KW glitch.
Easy infinite.
Great delay attack.
Great light chain.
KWHx2 glitch.
Good launcher.
Good AA.
Juggle-able dash attack.
KWH thats can be either a projectile or animation trap, for kill stealing.
Good air KWL chain.
Good KWL range.
Easy combos.
Easy rape cancel.
Fast attacks.

He doesn’t have many weaknesses, if any, maybe that his heavy-ending chains are sort of ass?

Team leader Gargoyle is so broke.

Anyone with a good air LKW or combo-able air HKW is a broke team leader. Team Battle is just that kind of mode. Shit since almost everyone can anti air off a jab now everyone is a broke team leader, you just have to not suck. :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t see your point, obviously just being team leader makes you broke even without good moves(thats kind of the point, you’re the strongest but you’re also the target). What i’m saying is Gargoyle makes the best team leader, out of any of the characters in this game.

And i’ve been playing this game since launch, i’ve used every character at least once or twice in TB, and I know how to do just about all of the infinites/glitches/loops/ridiculous shit. I’ve won more than enough TB matches but I never get scores that high, team leader or not, with anyone except Gargoyle.

Gargoyle makes TB free, all the big characters do really, but Gargoyle more than the others.

Robots are too fast to be caught and killed, and Gar can snipe kills when he gets the chance. That why?

That, the fact that the buffed flying kick tears through guard like tissue paper and is easily spammable as well as combo-able, the fact that the buffed dive-punch does near 50% and also tears through guard, the ability to carry a player with you so when you run into trouble they’ll provide back up, fast KWH, heavy armor on his launcher, easy rape cancels, and the buffed grab.

He’s hard as dick to kill if he isn’t solo.

What is it with robots named Gar anyway

They’re awesome, thats what.

Which of the two do you guys prefer?

Gargoyle easily.

Also TOD’d a guy running away from me with Master Evader as Max. Did Zero heavy -> light infinite with the new tech into KWH glitch. I usually confirm real easy with light -> shift light -> heavy since it works itself right into the infinite, and he can 360 during a lot of the chain in case they try to break out.

Felt so fucking good.

Hey all. AR fan on 360 here, mostly use Durga, but also a fan of Rin Rin, Nikolai, and Bayonetta, and am thinking of trying out the robots. To be honest, AR is actually my first “competitive” or at least multiplayer combat game. Always wanted to get into fighting games, but for various reasons never did. Anyway, I’ve been playing since day 1, but there are still many things I’m unsure of or having trouble with so I made an account here hoping some of the more experienced players could help me out. Up till now I’ve mostly lurked GameFAQs and watched tons of videos of Boodendorf’s channel (really helpful, thanks for your efforts, Boo), but it was only now that I found out about this thread, which in turn led me to AnonEmulation’s channel which is a treasure trove of skillful AR gameplay. I consider myself decent, though I’m inconsistent, often getting lots of kills, but also getting many deaths sometimes. I’ve only occasionally been in first place, usually I’m in 2nd or lower, and despite being lvl 50, I can clearly see I don’t have as good a grasp of this game as many other lvl 50s I’ve seen.

Anyway, I was hoping you guys might be able to answer some of my questions. I’ve googled a lot of stuff, but there’s still a good number of things for which I haven’t found an answer and a couple of things I’m kind of confused about. There’s quite a bit and this being my first multiplayer action game, a lot of these things are probably really noobish/scrubbish so bear with me:

Guard breaking: Anything good and reliable for Nik, Jack and Bayo? Nik’s weak>delayed weak>strong seems to break guards on occasion, but it’s really inconsistent. Jack I’ve got nothing, and Bayo for all her qualities doesn’t seem to have anything good either. For Durga I use the delayed weak>strong string, and for Rin I just use her delay or j.KWL, though I’m not sure if it’s really good against larger characters like Max or Guard Master users.

Durga: For decent damage I mostly rely on the following two: strong, strong, anti-air, air weak, air weak, strong, strong, anti-air, air weak, KWL, KWS (shortened or modified depending on the situation)

and weak or lean, delayed weak, strong, unload your KW bar on the enemy

They’re both useful, but I find that compared to other characters, Durga doesn’t really have any relatively quick or hard-hitting moves. What I mean is, you have to “work” to build damage with him, while the other characters have moves that can take of large chunks of HP with a single move. Not only that, but that first combo is not always reliable due to lag and the dynamism of the gameplay. It works perfectly in training mode, but during actual multiplayer sometimes Durga will just fly over the opponent after the anti-air or the air weak, or his KW hits will miss, or due to lag, after the air weak x2 bit, before you can follow up with the second strong, strong bit, the opponent will break out of the combo or 360 when they should have been in the stunned/juggled animation. I find that it’s harder to get high kill streak with Durga compared to other characters. By the time I’ve gotten enough damage on the opponent, my kill is either stolen or I’m interrupted by another player. That’s isn’t to say that it’s impossible, I’ve gotten tons of kills with him, but I find it harder than other characters.

Lag Barons: Not really about learning the game, but I was curious, does anyone know the specific properties or Lag Barons? I know there are the one-bar pimpryuken dudes, but I’ve run into a couple of Barons who have 3 bars (and I even check during the game by pressing select), yet these guys are impossible to hit and seem to be able to kill you with just two hits with his dive attack. There’s this one guy in particular who I’ve run into a number of times that’s really damn annoying. He uses Master Evader, and today he literally only came after me during a bunch of team deathmatches. Even with three other players ganging up on him (including a pretty good lvl 50 Ai Rin), this guy would skirt around everyone and then somehow knock off like 50-80% of your health with his j.KWL (resulting in death since you’re almost never at full health). Even when three player would be juggling him, he’d somehow break out of the combo. When he’s attacking someone, I’d hit him with Durga’s strong, strong launcher, and instead of going straight up, he’d be put in the launch animation, but would barely rise of the ground, and then he’d evade out, even if my anti-air hit him. There have been countless times he’s been in red health and somehow still survived. I know there’s skill, but I dunno, I’m kinda suspicious about this guy. And he’s not the only one, I’ve run into a couple other Barons who’ve had 3 bar connections and still behaved strangely.

Terminology: There are a lot of terms who’s meanings I’m unsure of. Google has been pretty helpful, but there are still a few terms that I have no idea of. I’ll use Pterodactyl’s post about Gargoyle since it has some of these terms, plus I’m looking into trying out Gargoyle/Garuda.

-what is a “buffed” attack?
-the dive-punch, is that the a.KWL attack?
-I know what super armor is (momentarily immune to stun during certain attacks, correct?), but I’ve never heard the term “heavy armor” before.
-“Twitch cancels”, I tried this today, but I can’t seem to get it right. Tell me if this is correct, so then I’ll know if it’s an execution flaw or if it’s just my timing is off.

Using Durga: I’m holding the guard button at all times. Then I use my lean attack. Immediate after, I just tap the KW trigger, and immediately after I use my lean attack again. And this whole time, the guard button is pressed.

Thanks in advance for any help, and sorry if these questions seem scrubbish/noobish.

-Buffed attacks are attacks in fighting games(or any kind of game with attacks in it really) that are effected by buffs, things like increased speed, damage, super armor, or recovery time, things like cause noticeable improvement to standard attacks or stats.

It’s a status effect in short.

In this game specifically things like team battle positioning, perks, and items give you buffs. As a team leader in TB(Team Battle) you get all available buffs(lean extender, extra health, extra damage, extra defense, chargeable heavy attacks, and maybe a few other things that I cant think of). The opposite of a buff is a nerf, which in most terms is when something gets its effectiveness in certain situations or overall toned down.

-The dive punch is a.KWL for Black Baron, Max, Douglas, and Gargoyle, though they are all slightly different.

Douglas’s has the least range but has the best recovery, Max’s has the least recovery and has zero tracking making it hard to land in most situations, Baron’s is basically just a better version of Max’s in most aspects, and Gargoyles is the best over all with better damage and good tracking, though its recovery is kind of meh.

-Heavy armor means a large amount of super armor, super armor only lasts as long as you don’t get hit a specific amount of times. Some attacks have one hit of armor(Like Oinkie’s KWH) and some have a ton of hit(Like Baron’s KWH). Big characters(ones with two-man grabs) have heavy attacks that have heavy armoring to them. Armor can be broken by any kind of heavy attacks, grabs, or KW attacks.

-At least for the PS3 the cancels only work correctly if you use the R2/R-trigger button, the one in the back.
