My copy of Anarchy Reigns came a few days ago. I’m pretty happy that it’s come 2 weeks early. Ordered from Zavvi because cheapest.
Managed to grind my way to rank 10 on multiplayer. Seeing as I’ve pretty much been playing the Japanese it hasn’t been that bad online connection wise. Gameplay wise I’ve been getting my ass handed to me. I’ve learned a few combos now so hopefully I should fair better.
Everyone should preorder it. This game is the hypest (so is Bayonetta).
Are there any unlocks in Multi? Can I grind bot matches to get stuff?
I don’t think you can grind bot matches to rank up. You only get exp doing player and ranked matches. Private and bot matches don’t give any exp.
You unlock perks and characters in multi. But you can unlock the characters just through playing the single player campaign and a few of the perks as well. But pretty much that’s all you can unlock in multiplayer. There’s emblems as well which act like an icon on your hub which you unlock for doing certain things in the matches.
You rank up during Survival and Mad Survival player matches
So if you’re afraid of getting stomped in PvP you can unlock perks through PvE just the same
To unlock everything for multiplayer, you pretty much have to do the campaign(For like 8 skills). Get 100 kills on every map in campaign. All characters and the remaining skills can be unlocked when you hit rank 50. Also the game tells you how to unlock things when you highlight a character/skill in the bottom right corner of the screen. Playing survival is the easiest way to rank up.

nope, not region locked; i imported mine back in july for the japanese launch. in fact, if you play the JP ver on a NA xbox it boots up as anarchy reigns instead of max anarchy
played this game since the japanese launch so i’d say i enjoyed it during the apex of it’s popularity amongst the japanese xbox community. i’ve played in battle royal lobbies exclusively filled with all europeans, japanese, and americans. being from west coast california, i’d say i had the best connection with others from america(of course) and players from japan; worse connection would be with players from europe but by a negligible margin. mostly i would experience occasional weirdness on my screen such as mild teleporting and invisible weapons, very rarely extreme intolerable slowdown. games were still very much playable regardless of who i was playing with.
imho you will always experience some form of lag; regardless where the person is from – overseas or even in the next room – shenanigans will ensue due to lag. a buddy and i used to play lots of cage match against each other; there were times i saw his character stunned on my screen only to find out he was very much alive and kicking on his. occasionally your screen will misinform you during tense combat, causing you to drop a combo or become comboed yourself; you just gotta realize crap happens and roll with it or adjust your tactics accordingly. normally these random mishaps are a heavy issue in 1vs1 fighting games but for multiplayer brawlers like this – which connect a large number of players at once – you probably shouldn’t rely so heavily on timing and reaction as timing and how your opponent is supposed to react to your atks will most definitely be off at times.
i’d say being successful in this game is based more so on observing your opponent(s) (i.e. how they get up, at what point they 360, what atks they favor approaching with so you can fish for a stun, if they are an easy kill, etc) and playing smart (i.e. knowing the map, best techniques for kill steal/guard break, knowing when/what items to go for, knowing how to pick/avoid your fights, etc). as long as you watch carefully and analyze before jumping head first into battle, you should be golden.

Are you able to fight Bar-bots only in Mad Survival? Or are they in some of the missions on higher difficulty levels? I only played through on normal.

You can fight the bar bot in survival as the final boss of the station map.
