Picking an ISM for the random character on Alpha 3 (arcade), please help?

I like to play using a random character, I am supposed to be able to chose my ISM like this:

  • Pressing LP or LK selects X-ism.
  • Pressing MP or MK selects A-ism.
  • Pressing HP or HK selects V-ism.

However this doesn’t seem work, I get a random ISM everytime, is there anything else I can do?

I’m using version US 980904

please help!

The -ISM will be random also.
