AE and UMVC3 currently. What do you play?
I play the same stuff, Marvel and AE. I play other stuff but those are the main two, just started AE actually about a month ago so I’m still getting used to it a bit. I’ve been playing Marvel since MvC1 though lol. I sent you a PM response

We can always rent the space that’s in Gamer Doc. Only costs a few bucks per person and you can bring in your own consoles if you want to. I also wanna organize a trip out to University Pinball to check it out and see if we can start something up there.
It’s a shame since it’s such a central location yet there isn’t any weekly tourneys or anything that I know of there. Nerd Palace looks cool but it’s a hike to get to.
Good luck with Gamerdoc. We try to run things there but the weekends are their birthday business days, they’re not gonna pass those up for a few peeps.
It’s been a while and we’ve been trying to get a scene down here but most cats just don’t want to come unless there’s big name peeps that come or something.
If you guys are really serious about trying to start a casual weekly, I’ll talk to GDoc and see what can happen.
Just moved to Villanova for graduate school and need to get away from studying. Does anyone play MvC2 here? If so, where should I go? TBH, I haven’t touched the game in years.
I think as long as we can get a continuous decent crowd and are willing to fork over some money for the venue, there isn’t much reason for them to not consider it. If not on a regular basis, we can run it as something supplemental to other things we have going on like Nerd Palace and the group that’s getting together over at Drexel.
That’s because there’s no tournaments… if there were Thursday Night Fights at gamerdoc or something you can bet there would be tons of people showing up after just a few tournaments cause there’s nothing else like that in the area… can’t run like 4 tournaments over the course of a year and then talk about how there’s nobody that comes, of course not, there’s no reason to come.
Is the Break up in north NJ or something? I hear about it but have no clue where it is.
Dunellen. It’s about 2 to 2.5 hours from some places in SJ unfortunately.
I’m from Maple Shade and would love to get together with some people. I’m SUPER SUPER new though. Like just got SSFIV4AE and a TE fightstick yesterday and I have zero experience. I requested to join the Get Salty group.
That’s a good call. Pretty decent players in that group that’ll get you started. You should try and carpool with them to the Break on Tuesdays, or to Nerd Palace on Mondays.
Cool. I don’t mind driving the carpool sometimes as well. I have a 5 seater sedan that gets 32mpg so that’s a plus. I’m only about 2 miles from Gamer Doc(I live on Church Rd near Fornos). I’m more likely to go to Nerd Palace than Break (based purely on distance, Break is near NYC right?).
I think I’m going to play Ryu long term. I’m going to practice some 10x drills as well as spend time doing the trials. So far I have terrible timing with the easy combos on the trials. Going to do some reading on the Ryu forum as well.
