Hello!
Any SSF4 AE in arcades in Manila? I’ll settle for vanilla too. If so please list them for me. I am visiting from Vancouver, Canada (considered a pretty decent player there) and am hoping to play some really good players in Manila.
Last time I was here 14 years ago, the arcade scene was MASSIVE with the main game being X-Men vs. Street Fighter and the players were awesome. Hoping not much has changed! 
By the way my name is Chris, and while I am a fellow pinoy, I wasn’t raised here so I don’t speak/understand any Tagalog.
EDIT: I saw a bunch of arcade info in the previous page, but pretty old posts so I’ll leave this up of there are any updates. Does Megamall still have a strong SF4 scene?

We’ll be holding a National Tournament this coming August 20, 2011 so maybe you can join us if you’re still here.
If you wanna check out the arcade scene, the best place to go to is still at Timezone Megamall where most of the good and top players play.

Also, the cash prize will be distributed into certain percentages for 1st and 2nd placers (prize for 3rd place is still under consideration). Although, the percentages are dependent on the number of participants. Also, total pot is reduced by the rental fee of the venue.
RULES/FORMAT:
-Race to 2 rounds, best of 3 matches, same format throughout the tourney except for GRAND FINALS which is best of 5 matches instead of 3…
-DOUBLE ELIMINATION, winner moves on and loser goes to loser’s bracket.
-Both players can use any character at the start of the set.
-Loser of the 1st match can change character. winner cannot change character.
-AVOID BEING SALTY (ok lang siguro MURDERED FACE)

I’m already in Manila but my ability to go out is very limited since I have other business and priorities here (although I’m trying to make SF a priority LOL). But unfortunately I’ll be gone Aug 7 so I won’t make that tourney.
I’m actually going to Megamall today so will definitely check out Timezone. Won’t be there too long though. But I’ll probably be there a lot next week Aug 1-4. Are there decent players all day generally, or are there peak times?
I main a lot of characters. Mostly Adon and Honda if I know I’m playing tougher opponents, but for fun I’ll also use Makoto and Seth. If you see a dude playing one of those characters and only knows English, be sure to say hi

Sup Tao! Yeah it’s Chris. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be at any arcades much (or at all) from Aug 5-9. I don’t play mvc2 anymore. I played mvc3 a lot when it came out for a few weeks but got back into SSF4 and that’s definitely my main game. Lucky for you I suck against the Dictator match but I’ll money match you anyway if we bump into each other!
haha hey!! i’m playing more mvc3. i played ssf4 hardcore for about 7 weeks last summer and i’ve played maybe 10 hours of AE so far so i haven’t really gotten any good. but when i went back to vancouver in january, i was still able to at least trade games with everyone except maybe kenny who admittedly is too good for me. maybe back when i played hardcore. i had the highest dictator bp in the WORLD for about a week back in ssf4 haha before i dropped the game. i’m really shitty now but mvc3 is gonna be my main game! we can have some friendly money matches in AE tho. i don’t really use dictator anymore. only yun and yang hahaha but if i’m dying i’ll make the cowardly switch back to bison =)
any word on another MvC3 tournament? really one join one at least before UMvC3 drops. lol
@321 Estrellla; i played at Megamall just a few hours ago from 5-8pm, maybe you played yesterday coz i wasn’t able to play any ADON or HONDA. Best time to play is 4pm until 7 or 8pm. Then ill try to go there often on Aug 1-4… =)
@ATMSpiderTAO; most top players here or pinoy2dfighters.com players are down for any money match for SSF4AE. Just post here when you’re in the country already and when can arrange the time and place for it.

haha AWESOME. ssf4 money matches! my friend said u guys are pretty hardcore tho haha. i haven’t been practicing but i never back down from a challenge! i might try to talk out of it tho hahahaha. i’ll post when i’m there i’ll be there next week!
I went to Megamall yesterday around noontime but unfortunately didn’t check out Timezone. GF and family only stayed at SM darnit. I went to Timezone in Mall of Asia last night for a short time but only saw 2 Ken players who I don’t think knew what they were doing. Looks like I probably won’t get to go again till Monday so hope to see you guys there!

actually i ONLY use yun and yang and honestly, they’re not that good. they play just like bison and have the same bad matchups as he does. loses to guile, gief and go even with the shoto’s in my opinion. they’re pretty good tho!! definitely MUCh better offensively than bison lol

Ah, haven’t been here in a while. 
Anywhere in particular? I believe The_Third is from Cebu, and merchie is from Ilo-ilo. Some of the Manila players play Visayas players via online, as far as I know.

Ah, not sure if I can help you there The nearest game community I know of would be Bacolod (Negros Occidental) and I only know of them due to their Tekken yt account, lol.
Was anyone at Timezone Megamall yesterday afternoon? Played a decent Guile who I traded games with but used a different character everytime I lost. Might stop by today as well…
