I’ll use the Xbox 360 region locking guide as an example (no one has made one for PS3 obviously, because P4U is the first to have done this). Companies can pick and choose what regions they want to lock out. Some games lock out two regions, some lock out one region… It’s all up to the company itself. Play-Asia Region Compatibility Guide

Both PCUBE and Zen United are taking credit for publishing the Blazblue series in Europe, think they are either one and the same or very closely linked in such a way as both have a part in production.
They say they are “working towards” August 31st, anyone who’s had anything to do with this company in the past will know that they have a hard enough time sticking to a release date they set in stone let alone one they don’t.
That and this is the first bloody game to be region locked on PS3, Sony is finally moving away from the dark ages and these fools move in and start undoing that work, their word that they won’t do it again isn’t worth the time it takes to read it and other companies may be influenced to try and pull this crap too.
No, a stand needs to be taken, and this game needs to bomb for the sake of gaming as a whole, the name “Persona 4 Arena” needs to become synonymous with the situation where a company loses it’s good reputation and a game which should have sold well bombs due to corporate greed trying to cut open the goose laying the golden eggs.
How does the region locking work? It’s just NTSC vs PAL right?

For P4U, each game is locked to its own region (like NTSC-J only works for Japanese consoles). No region free or dual region compatibility for any version of the game.

The facebook(shudders) link is from Zen Uniteds page, notice the logos in the bottom left corner, the other two links are the announcements of P4 Arena from Zen United, they are probably working together to release it, just like for Blazblue.
