Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena

If he was using an emulator to play the game there is a patch to replace the English audio with Japanese.

In other news, P4U is being streamed at EVO on side streams.
Those of you that are attending, get in there!!

If you’re in America, you don’t have to worry about the region lock if you’re importing from Japan for the PS3. America and Japan share the same region for Blu-Ray discs.

So i believe the Europe peeps are gonna get screwed over in the region lock topic…?

IDK about that.
My Japanese PS3 games say “region 3” and my American ones say “region 1” (EU is 2)

Fuck region locking. This screws over those of us with NA PS3s on Asian soil.

That is one fancy bitch.

No way in hell I’m supporting a region-locked PS3 game, even though I really wanted it.

Other companies start doing this, and people like me who have to rely on imports are screwed.

Not to mention this is gonna be hell for TOs when the PS3s they’re using are from different regions (as what happens here).

I don’t understand the point of region locking, wouldn’t it just reduce sales?

Nope!!
Well… it will for those who would like to import it.
Which is… uh… is like all 3 people.

The only time I can recall a PS3 game was region locked was Stranglehold because it had a movie on the disk. Which was kind of funny because if it was a BD movie it would have the same region in Japan and North America and it didn’t but whatever. I just don’t understand what the fuck Atlus is protecting here.

Maybe they want to split the online content like assholes. Which I won’t complain so much about if it somehow ends up being Japan getting more expensive DLC but would be meh all around anyways.

I have a US PS3 (because that’s what DataBlitz sold us here) in the Philippines where most stores (including DB) sell Asian region PS3 games. In other words, if I want to play this, then I’ll have to import which means paying up to 50% of the game’s cost in taxes/customs charges

Facts:

Dual Audio in English release
Dual TEXT in English release
Europe release already confirmed for "sometime in 2012"
Online play servers are global (even though the game is region locked, people with a US copy can still play against people with asian copies, etc.)
The 360 version was probably going to be region locked anyway (Though it is never required, even on the 360.)

Opinions:
People who decide not to support this game because it has region locking on the PS3 forfeit their right to complain about how people only play games they don’t like.
The only people who have a legitimate complaint here are people like d3v who outside of the “three major markets” (aka Japan, Europe, USA) and therefore are forced to struggle with a very confused region system.

Fact: This game will cost me and other local players 100$ before tax just because of this.
Getting people to play niche games like this is hard as it is, and imagine how hard it will be with this price tag.

If this trend continues, every disc based FG will cost me and others 100$+. Maintaining a local scene will be impossible.

So yeah as much as I wanted to play this game, I’d rather give Atlus the finger now, hope that many others will do the same, and maybe prevent the rest of the genre from going this way.

How is that even related to region locking?

Not only this will be extremely expensive since I’ll have to import the HK version, supporting this might lead to other companies doing the same, including non-FGs, forcing me to buy many other games at the same price.

Fuck that. I’d rather pass on a single game I want instead of being forced to buy a goddamned new PS3 to have fair prices, even though I’d gladly import the super expensive version if it were the only version, like a Japan-only release.

Didn’t read opinion #2, did you?

Is it weird that I noticed the boob jiggle first?

Played a few matches at the Evo Hall…I’m gonna pre-order.

Sucks that those P4A sticks weren’t for sale.
