EDIT: On a related note, I’ve put up a Rules/Info thread like the ones we’ve done for Tech Talk and SFxT. This means that there will be a thread directory/list of good threads from the second post onwards. So if anyone feels that any threads should be added, please PM me or one of the other mods.
Also, be reminded that the system automatically bans depending on the number of warning points you acrue. Length of the ban is based on the number of points.
So I love me some Persona/SMT, but my reactions are pretty slow by default so that even SFxT seems fast to me. Should I just avoid this game like the dickens?
Tomorrow needs to hurry up so I can coin this game and start playing with some characters. I know for sure I’m going with Yosuke because he’s a ninja, but so many others…
you’ll get used to it, trust me. it’s the same with mvc3 high level play. as a outsider you just think “wtf is going on” at the beginning.
this games does a great job at making the border to get into the game rather slim, meaning it’s easy to start playing, but is at the same time is incredible deep and has a tons of mechanism behind it, that it yields something to play around for pros.
How do you guys feel about not being able to be chipped to death? Of course it’s nice when it’s in your favor, but I find that if both players are low on health the match just becomes agonizing. Neither player will commit to any risky mixups so it ends up just being this incredibly boring block-fest. Makes it kind of anti climactic.
No chip deaths is something I barely even notice, since you should pretty much never get chipped out in these kinds of games without it anyways because they have green block instead.
I think it’s exactly the opposite. both player being low health trying to desperately get any hit is so much hype. lvl up tournament had that and it was very enjoyable. you don’t want to be passive when your opponent has a crapload of options to score a hit anyway, since you have just as much.
in addition, in a game where it’s impossible to dodge some stuff (for instance when paralyzed, akihiko super etc) it’s actually a smart decision which we’ll grasp to understand when the game evolves.
I think that it was something added by an atlus’s petition to maintain the game as noob friendly as possible, you know that there are a lot of people who hate to being chipped, and addint the amount of shit that some characters can put on the screen via specials/ persona attacks, i’m not surprised that they wanted to avoid some shit storm from their non fighting game fans.
This game is balanced around no chip deaths - including them would only serve to make characters who can do a lot of chip damage, like Aigis, better, while making characters who can’t, like Kanji, worse. Chip deaths have generally been a non-factor in ASW games anyways.
Is it even possible to practice for Score Attack Mode? They do increase damage and have an ongoing special ability (Yosuke unlimited Sprint,Yukiko throwing 3 fans at once in an arc with unblockable flames, etc). Annoying how you can’t continue either i only made it to match 6 with Narukami. I can’t play against the cpu like i would a human either
