With Kenji I like to put my opponents in shock and go for IK. That works more often than it should
I had a few sets with an Akihiko player the other day so we could gain matchup experience. The only way he would win was if he was in my face using throw/AoA mixups. However, it took him a while that as soon as he used his persona that sucks you in (Also, how the fuck do I avoid his IK? It just sucks me in no matter what I do if I’m in a corner.) using D, he had to start rushing spamming his AoA, Sweep or Throw. Eventually he had me downloaded and won the last set pretty convincingly, but it was 3-2 my favor. I think Kenji & Elizabeth have more shit matchups thajn your character does, just need to start downloading some of the people’s day 1 strats.
It took me a few games to get use to Yukiko’s persona hitting low, since she’s zoning about 80% of the time you can pretty much always block low and you’re good. Just need to move in as soon as you can to avoid her gaining her Fire Levels.
if mr wizard dislikes it that’s a good thing imho.
also dislikes 3S.
is this game playable on hd tvs? (input difference?)
because it looks like crap on my crt.
I read somewhere that the modern fighting games dont suffer input lag from hds quite like the older games do.
Ive never played a asw game before either, so like how is the neutral game supposed to play out in this?
also what is the throw startup, I keep getting hit out of them
i don’t know exactly what neutral game means.
but movement is how you get most stuff started if that’s what you mean. true for basically every asw game.
Neutral game if I am correct is kinda like when people are playing footsies in SSFIV.
Personally? There is no such thing as neutral game in here.
neutral game, I meant like midscreen footsies ala 3S.
but I can already tell Im going about, trying to play this game the wrong way.
Neutral game doesn’t mean max range pokes lol.
I’m playing it on a ASUS VH238 and it plays and looks great. No noticeable lag. The game did lag on my friend’s TV when I played it at his place. Shit felt like a ranked match
ah yeah, it’s just kind of different. same basic concept. you’re both trying to catch the other, but movement has more options. so moving just like you would in 3s to gain ground or make someone want to do something is the same, you just have more ways to do it. and they have more ways to escape it.
oh it doesnt? my b, I thought it was the same
Holy fuck so many people are mad scrubby in this game.
And I’m not talking about those mashing 5AAAAAAAAA and IKs
Most of the complaints I see about the game are people sucking too hard to know how to deal with situations. It’s a good game if you actually learn it and stop scrubbing out with the A button.
Also on the IK topic, some of them can be used on reaction. I did Kanji’s on reaction to yukiko’s overhead today and got her. Also seems like you can do Yu’s in response to Yosuke’s flip over your head thing and get a free hit. I’m sure there’s other situations where you can land it too for slower moves that you can invincibility through or maybe even run up and do it late on someone’s wakeup so they DP into the invincibility and die on the way down.
what kind of monitors do the cabs use?
yeah that’s me my b.
I’m pretty sure all my victories online come from people not knowing how to deal with Elizabeth’s special moves/Thanatos. I dunno how many times I’ve had Thanatos head butt folks, once people step up their game I’m screwed lol.
You know I had the vague inclination that Yukiko might be the closest overall archetype to the Murakumos, which bothered me because I think she’s kind of dumb as a character, but I wasn’t expecting that she pretty much…is Lambda. No cool mobility options and she doesn’t have as extensive of pickups—not that she really needs to given the combo system—but such similar major normals and setups. (Act Parser Zwei knockback > Spike Chaser > 6D = B Agi knockback > C Maragi > 3B)
I’m not sure I realized just how different Nu and Lambda really are until having to make this comparison.
Havent purchased any fighting games since SFxT and I’ve been looking for a new one…
I don’t have many people to play with IRL so most of my time is going to be spent online (at least at first) so KoF is out of the question since it’s netcode isnt supposed to be too great… Almost got Skullgirls but I was out of state when it was released and now that I’m back home, people are saying it’s so hard to find a game and that the game is dead atm, that I should wait until the PC version comes out for cross plat support…
But now that I’ve done a little research in to P4A, it’s looking pretty awesome, but I’m kind of reluctant…
I hear the netcode is awesome, but I’m worried that in a few months there won’t be enough people to play with. It doesnt seem the forums here are too active so that likely means not as many active players… Which wouldn’t be too much of a problem if the game wasnt $60, but I’m kind of reluctant as that’s a pretty steep price to pay if any of these become an issue… especially considering the cast of characters is fairly small for a full price game. If it was $30-$40 I would be on top of it… but at full price I’m not sure.
I’m wondering if I should just wait a month until a drop in price (fighting game prices drop so fast) but I’m afraid I’ll be too far behind the learning curve lol
Any down for some matches on PSN? Add me
PSN: Hokuwokk
That’s one problem i’m going to have when I am finally able to get this, many people will have already figured out counters to moves I haven’t even learned yet. Isn’t going to stop me from trying to learn of course, but that is going to be an interesting first week or two.
