Not only this; it’s better balanced on its first iteration than Blazblue on its fourth.
CT was the most broken but most fun (unless you’re a Tager player). Sucks because after CT, it was never the same.

There were a couple matchups I hated in Carl (lol 9.9 - 0.1) and Rachel (only like 8.5-1.5), but still… it was rewarding. You had to make perfect reads every time, but you got real rewards for them, especially GETB. Not like CS1 where you had to make perfect reads every time and you got a whole 3.5k and nominally some pressure (which sucked) for them. He was better in CS1, yes, but it honestly had more to do with nerfs given to other characters and system changes than his buffs.
here comes another noob question: i see a lot of people talking about a “neutral game” while fighting…what is that exactly?
Basically, you can consider the general set of situations within a fighting game to be a set of states:

I don’t understand why I’m so hype for this game… I never played BB or GG or any other fighter of its type but for some reason, I keep looking at P4:A and I’m literally counting down hours until the store opens tomorrow to pick up my order… All the characters seem to have a unique game plan that all seem viable, everyone says the game is incredibly well balanced for 1st attempt and I honestly see 4 or 5 characters our of 13 that I REALLY want to try…

I really liked Yu when I played but I still want to hit training with Yukiko. If anything you’ll see a lot of Akihiko’s day one until they learn how much trouble he has trying to get in on characters like Mitsuru and Aigis. I’ll think you’ll see more Yu players in the long haul.
