What? That ridiculous!
Why would any fight game include any kind of training mode?
Haha, it’s very fun and I think it’s going to be fantastic. The system is deep and the gameplay is very smooth. Easy to pick up for someone who’s never played a fighting game before and has enough depth to get more of a hardcore crowd interested. I particularly love how balanced the game is though. Most other games I can’t play my favorite character because there’s always a character that can do what they do but ten times better, or they just don’t all go together (ala Marvel). In this, you can play your favorite character, and still have as much of a competitive chance as anyone else on the roster. I just love seeing how hype everyone is about this, this is also pretty much the only fighting game I want to play, so I hope the community can take it far.
EDIT: @Pozer, you should have to change your avatar everytime you post based on what you typed. All in favor?
If I never played any Persona game, how much will I miss out on if I get this one first? I am going to get P4 Golden on the vita, but this game looks fun(Loving the rapier girl and the spats girl.)
I heard as far as the story, you might miss some things, but if you’re getting P4G it should clear things up for you. I don’t think they’re going to delve to deep into the P3 characters story (at least not as much as I’d like), so you’ll probably be ok without playing that one. If anything, there’s always wikipedia.
But will P4 Arena spoil P4 Golden?
Probably, it takes place after.
Might as well purchase Persona 3 FES on PSN if you don’t mind shelling out 80-100 hours of your life.
Another option is watching the P4 anime I guess. I haven’t seen it since i’m trying to rush through PS2 P4 as we speak. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this burnt out.
Haha, I have such a huge backlog of games, plus with work taking 40 hours a week, It will be a long time till I finish that game.
I’ve been on this game since DAY 1! Watched too many vids and studied the shit outta it! Man, I’m insanely hyped for this game. Not only is the game awesomely balanced on like the first/second try, but it addresses all my problems with BB (loved that game to death though). It’s the best fighting system I’ve seen! MAN, now I really wanna watch some P4A vids, but, I’m low on bandwidth LOL.
I saw on eurogamer that it’s also going to have 43 lessons on how to play the game, like the tutorial mode in BB. That sounds awesome cause now I can get more folks into it.
I don’t give a flying shit about the story.
I want to play as Labrys, gimme gimme!
I was just asking since I heard some things on how it won’t have a practice, training, tutorial, or whatever mode since apparently some people were complaining about having to practice their combos in Versus.
I know the feeling. I have powered through quite a few games getting myself ready for the next one. Last one I did was all the Sly Cooper games on the HD collection
I have a similar dilemma as well. I’m trying to catch up with all these PSP RPGs I “promised” I was supposed to finish.
I haven’t seen it either, but I hear it sucks only very slightly less than the F/SN anime, which is not a good thing.
I’m also in the process of powering through P3FES (and The Answer), and P4. Made the mistake of starting P3 on Hard… never again. I was expecting some sort of extra reward or something… all I got was a bunch of enemies capable of one-shotting everyone in my party by night 3. Got through it eventually, though. Persona 4 is much better paced (so far), and being able to actually control my allies is nice. Good luck?
I’m actually enjoying the P4 anime, despite the accelerated pace and the obvious feeling that they’re skipping ALOT of content. Not a 10/10 anime obviously but I’d give it a 7 or 8, which isn’t that bad. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.
As long as the Persona 4 anime is better than Trinity Souls, then that’s good enough for me.
I hope we get some good gag endings in Arena too.
i think that the anime is ok, it helps you to understand the most important things of the persona universe if you dont want to expend 60~80 hours in the game
word
who plays fighting games for the story anyway
Well, it’s obviously someone… GG2 actually sold copies. Not that GG2 was a huge success or anything.
Hmm…
Labrys has the brooklyn accent (which personally for me is a nice change of pace) because its to respond to her Japanese having a country accent i believe
The same people who played the rpg games for their story when they see that Persona 4 arena is a canon sequel and not just a fighter spin-off. Atlus added things like auto combos so that demographic of fans of the series story who are new to fighters won’t get stranded. This game is trying to appease both fighter game enthusiast as well as the general Persona fan base
On another note, I do suggest watching the p4 anime if you want to know more on what the hell the story is, if you don’t have the time to play p3 fes or p4. Its only 25 episodes (not counting the movie which focus on true end) and gives you enough info to give you a basic understanding of the main p4 cast characters and the basic plot on whatever is happening or has already happened.
