“THANK YOU” to everyone who showed up at the Gamestop tourny today.
Next time, the tourny will be in the food court, so we won’t have security on our ass, nor should we have to vertically spoon to make room for others.
There was a little bit of communication/cooperation error, but we should have 4 systems next time. I can’t guarantee whether they’ll be all 360 or all PS3, but I don’t think any of the issues we had with system tolerance affected the final outcome (Congrats to Ryry, by the way.)
Due to the player size, I WAS supposed to make the tourny single elim, but that wasn’t too bad of an issue, if one at all.
Overall, we should have all problems fixed next time (besides the prize. Sorry, it’ll never be too outrageous) and thank you for your patience.

Hey, thanks for the info!! I’ll start coming to the upcoming tournaments. I’ll make sure to practice hard with Rose before I come lol. By the way, I believe the GameStop off of Shore Drive (where Kroger is) will start to hold tournaments in the near future as well.

Just a reminder, the tournament will ALWAYS start very close to 3:00, so register BEFORE. SEE ME SPECIFICALLY (The black guy working there. I should always be working during setup/the tournament), because the other employees won’t know too much about the tourney, nor will they be carrying the actual signup sheet.
Next time is Saturday, April 24th, and will be in the food court once again (100% better location.)
There actually were no system issues this time around, and I should have the brackets better made next time to have the tournament go along faster. Also, i may just switch to 100% single elimination regardless to give more time for casuals.

Bracket Police will be there next time! Well run though. Its just better overall if “established players” play newer people rather than other “established” players.
Yes and no.
With single elimination format it’s sort of rough to get completely peaced out very convincingly regardless whether its 3 out of 5 or 2 out of 3. In all honesty complete random brackets work fine for Gamestop tournaments. People should not be so disappointed in overall placing and rather critique their actual matches, but for newcomers it may be rough getting stuck with Foomy and RyRy first round for a single elim sort of deal.
With additional tv’s, we should be able to do double elim without extending the tourney time. its up to kangarou…single elim is rough no matter what cause half the players are out after the first round stuck with nothing to do.
There are 2 issues with trying to get more setups.

I talked to my District manager: other people(Tourney-entrants) can NOT contribute TVs (Technically, the rules on ability to contribute hard drives/consoles is sketchy and probably not allowed either…)

Getting another Gamestop setup (or two) might be difficult(On top of previous reasons) because our manager (The only one with a truck capable of transporting a setup) is leaving our store on Friday.
I’ll have to talk to our (still perfectly unknown) new manager and see if we can come up with a solution, but for now, 3 is the max number of setups, and well have to see about how we do the brackets.

Usually, Reggie Cole comes with hi 360 hard drive, but if someone else wanted to bring theres as well, just to be sure, or once Reggie leaves for casuals after, it’d be appreciated. If we don’t need it, we’ll be glad to place your item(s) in the back of our store for safety.
Hey Kangarou - nice tourney today (even though few people showed)! Kudos to you for making it a smooth process. I had no idea that I would make 3rd place! Guess I’m just getting more confortable with the tournament scene and all the pressure lol. Let me know if your GameStop will hold any more tournaments and I’ll try to be there
