This would seem to be the case at the moment, USFIV on steam is unplayable, based on my online experience and discussion with fellow players. I don’t know what I was expecting, after the GFWL shutdown it would seem that this game has been thrown to the wind - Will there ever be a replacement ( for GFWL ) to make this game a playable experience? Somehow I doubt it.
Apologies if this is a problem specific to me, but I’m having a pretty bad issue with input lag in this game. I’m not even talking about online, I mean offline as well. The amount of lag between when I push a button/direction on my fightstick and the game actually responds is almost half a second, nigh unplayable. At first, I thought it was my fightstick acting up, but playing with the keyboard yielded the same amount of lag, and playing Skullgirls on PC was nearly lagless as well; it’s specifically this game. I’ve disabled Vsync and the Steam overlay, tried downing the graphics quality, and nothing seems to work. My only remaining suspicion may be my system specs, which are pretty damn low tbh.
OS Name Microsoft Windows 8.1
System Type x64-based PC
Processor Intel® Core™ i5-3230M CPU @ 2.60GHz, 2601 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 6.00 GB
Intel HD 4000 graphics (running a laptop, so no video cards for me)
I bought the Ultra upgrade on Steam, but can’t play it. The game launches, plays the Capcom/nVidia/etc. logo’s and then just goes to a black screen. Steam overlay works properly, even switching between windowed and fullscreen works with the alt+enter command. But no matter how long I wait, the game doesn’t proceed.
What’s odd is that a program called ‘DirectVobSub’ opens in my taskbar. Task Manager doesn’t recognize any executable or process under that name, nor is this program installed on my computer.
Game doesn’t do anything beyond that. Mouse still shows the basic Windows-cursor, game doesn’t resume at any beyond.
AMD drivers and such have all been properly updated, and my computer runs SSF4:AE perfectly fine.
try going to the game file in the SteamApp…right click and run “troubleshooting” or “troubleshooting compatibility issues”…
not that it matters, cuz you aren’t missing anything. trust me.
online on pc is disgusting right now. unplayable. makes me nauseous.
consider yourself lucky.
so that explain why when you create a lobby and just invite a friend it work good, but when you start searching for lobby its a total mess + the never ending flashing ping bars
for the freez on training mode, i didnt have a single one on a very long session yesterday ( my internet dosnt work at home atm ive spend hours there ) and actually before USF4 update i had the occasional 1sc~ freez, and i have everything maxed out in the graphic options , i also tried Decapre DCM ultra on the new stages, no slowdown/lag so far
maybe the intro video cant be played properly , i had a similar bug with KOF13 ,i just installed new video codec ( ccp pack ) and it worked fine, you can also try to re install the game from scratch
if he puts all settings on low and lowers the resolution to 1280x720, game can reach 60 fps.
I have a Intel 3000 GPU and slightly worse laptop and it runs smoothly if I choose this instead of Nvidia card
@Wooliam I had the same problem as you a while back with Super AE, turned out it doesn’t like being installed on any other drive than C:\ I have solid state for my OS and install all games onto a secondary drive E:\
Uninstalled and reinstalled on C and all was good, if your already on C then I cant help sorry.
you can chose wich GC a software should use by right clicking it and chose the right setting, i have a laptop with 2 GC ( nvidia + intel ) i cant remember the exact setting name, might have to plug it and check
By default its normally the Gaming GPU when plugged in and the CPU/Mobo accelerator when on battery. But yes, you can change this and even specify at program level which GPU to use in the nvidia control pannel.
However, installing the CCCP Codec pack did, which is strange since I didn’t need that for AE.
Anyway, time to enjoy this game. Cheers for all the effort, mates!
Anyone know if theres some way to get the dummy to do DWU on PC? I know the option isn’t in training mode yet. There was some training tool out in AE but I don’t remember what it is.
My system is very high end, and running the benchmark in-game gets an A (fps seem to cap at 300)
And able to play arcade, challenges and training great!
like it runs a looks so good,
then I tried online…
First off, dont do Quickplay, it wont find anyone (repeated ‘cant join session’ XP)
Do custom and get the list of players, selected the ones that display connection bars first (usually 3-4)
then…
audio drops low, wth?!
selection screens seem fine, no issues other than the audio is really low for some reason
ok, so the match starts, seems fine and good at first, other than the audio is still low, then…
spots of freezes/lag occur
and some times lost connections
after that I return to the menu with audio back to normal volume
I have had one decent game so far out of 10 matches; that only had one quick lag/pause (audio was still low tho)
Its not my isp, tho comcast, its an extreme 105/20 connection
and I usually can stream an hd video from Netflix/twitch (go Spooky!/LevelUp!), and play just fine on Xbox Live (USF4 also)
(and jumped back onto live, and able to play fine)
Capcom need to solve online or else PC is done
(unless everyone already bought it, then why should they care)
