thanx bro. In the end I upgraded to v.1.07 (exe ver.1.5.0.1) using the gfwl automatic update. Seems to work correctly, on a retail copy.

I noticed that too. I donā€™t know what the ex2 and ex3 titles stand for. A user noticed that with an older version of the unlocker but this was never fixed.

Itā€™s silly and barely matters, but what happened to this?

As I told many many pages ago, those are DLC titles, and I couldnā€™t find the memory addresses to unlock them. They are either encrypted, or in a completely different memory region than the rest of the game (or they are not there at all).

Long time player of SF4 but I think Iā€™m just about to make the plunge and pick up the PC version becauseā€¦ lets face itā€¦ waiting to get back home to your 360/PS3 really sucks when you have a powerful laptop staring right at you.

I have a question or twoā€¦ if I DO NOT buy the game from Steam, would there be any reason for me to download the Steam unlocker stuff? Iā€™m not too sure how this works as I have Steam but do not intend on purchasing SF4 AE through it. Rather would find a cheaper digital copy or a cheaper hardcopyā€¦

On the same note, I have a few friends who use & love the Steam serviceā€¦ if I didnā€™t buy the game through the Steam client, would I still be able to launch the game & play with my Steam friends? Iā€™ve never used the ā€˜GFWLā€™ service before and am wondering if it integrates at all with Steam. Trying to get everything figured out as far as which unlocker I should be checking out once I have the game, etc.

Sorry to blow up the thread with sorta off-topic shite, I just couldnā€™t think of a better place to ask SF4 PC related stuff.

The steam unlocker should be able to unlock stuff for the retail version as well. By stuff I mean taunts/colors/titles/etc.
