Doesn’t it change in the corner for shotos? I thought it was 8-7-1 when a shoto’s back is to the corner. Am I right?
Actually, you are correct, sir. Though, I’m not sure about the 7. I think it’s 8-8-1 but I most certainly could be wrong. It’s been a while since I’ve had to parry a super in the corner.
I think it’s 8-8-1 for Shotos in the corner. Pushback during parries obviously doesn’t occur in the corner, and Chun won’t get pushed back either.
Uh please enlighten me on this 8-8-1 and 8-7-1 talk, I don’t know what you guys are saying.
To elaborate further:
Her super can be broken down into three parts. The first set of kicks, the second set and the final launcher kick. Those numbers correspond to the number of parries necessary to successfully and completely parry her super.
The only super I can honestly parry well is the Hadou Burst and Shinkuu-Hadoken, the latter I can parry enough frames to reduce the damage by a decent amount, but only if I have a sec to react. If its right in my face I just have to block or evade it. Pretty tough for me.
Well, if it’s in your face, block and punish.
IIRC, the different numbers of parry needed for Chun’s SA2 is due to the fact some chars stay at the exact same place during parry (non shotos) and others (shotos) move a little backward, avoiding one of the hit. This is also why cornered shotos must parry 8, like others chars, as they’re not able to move anymore.
I don’t remember if ther’s one char moving forward during a parry. (?)
Oh, now I feel stupid, for some reason I just did not connect the context clues to see what you guys were saying lol.
No problem, so long as you got understood eventually. We’re here to help after all.
