@Armi0024 - Como? Huh? LoL
They are a lot more quite with the Little Kahunas than without. I will let you guys know if they’re any different with the Big version after I get some in.

So, are is the first batch of Kaimanas still on track to go up for pre-order tomorrow (10/10)? I’d like to get my hands on one and start fiddling around with some algorithms for idle and button press animations.
I see that deBoru updated the PAS Wiki with some info on the Kaimana’s layout, so it’s a start… I’m still new to Arduino (been looking at MC programming for a while, but was looking more at the NETduino family of MC’s), but C/C++/C# programming is my thing, so I’m hoping that I can churn out some good stuff in due time!!!
Quick question on the kaimana.
I’m very new to LEDs and look forward to taking this on as fun challenge. My question is, can the LEDs be turned off or do they always stay on? Is there a way you could hold something like start while you plug in to leave them off? I just don’t wanna bother someone at a future tournament or something down the line.
It really depends on the code uploaded to the Kaimana. Currently there is no mode where the Kaimana only acts as a pass through, but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen. Alternatively you could also mod a switch such as a turbo or lock switch (depending on the model stick) to have it pass through power to the PCB or not. Either way there are many ways to keep LEDs off, just depends on which route you take.
^just to add to what he said as an example.
I put a toggle ON/OFF switch (hidden in my cable compartment) on my main vcc line going to the kaimana board from the main pcb to turn off the LED’s, it doesn’t affect the button’s functions at all.
We are going to post them Sunday, shipping starting on the 15th, same ship date, we are just cutting the preorder time. I am still in the South Pacific on a medical outreach and its a bit too much to ask of Susan to get this all done. I have been gone for 3.5 weeks, and get home Saturday!
In case anyone was as concerned with this as I was, “Iori purple” is 75,000,160
Is the Kaimana LED Controller compatible with the ArcEye 3’s and if so will it require an adapter board?
Adapter board for sure but if I am not mistaken the 3s were common cathode, can someone confirm or deny that? If they are it would take a different adapter board. If 20 or so people are interested I can run a custom set of cables and boards for AE3s if they are common cathode.
The way his board controls LEDs is by a data stream, so the LEDs must be able to handle that. The Kaimana Js are the only prebuilt button board that does. All others need an adapter board. Our adapter boards are for the more popular common anode style, but we can look at common cathode as well. I believe AE1 and AE2 were common anode, so they should work
I can confirm the Arc Eyes 3’s are common cathode. I Remember there was a mod on the remora for common anode LEDS, but the pin for the 3s were ground.
Hey Armi
I know you said you would making led kits to purchase will they include Kiamana Js. Also for the Js are they 30mm only or are there 24mm version as well.
Question: Can I connect one of the “RGB 5mm LEDs” sold in your shop to each of my adapter PCBs for my button LEDs?
The Peles are a little cramped in my case.
They are common anode and are the same as the ones used in their RGB Stick setups so I don’t see why not. I’m using one right now with their RGB stick running on their new code (Probably should take a video… a higher quality one compared to last time).
Thanks for that, I did some research and, unfortunately, found that if I did that the light would be uneven.
Are Uila S Flash LEDs compatible? I have a crimper for .100 crimps, so I can make them work.
Can I order them without resistors, or would they be bright enough with them still installed?
You can make the lights even, you will need to compensate for different set ups though. Uila’s are compatible, but will need the adapter board. We will be selling the fittings so the Uila plugs right into the adapter board.

I can make them work already, I’ve got a Pololu crimper. I already lengthened several of the adapter harnesses because my tiny Magocyber case was shorting them. I made it so that my adapter boards sit in the empty space next to my joystick. Also, if it plugs directly into the board the space that I’m trying to keep will be eaten.
It’s a little unorthodox, but It just shows that you can make the Kaimana / Adapter setup work even with very little space.
I’ll post a picture later today of how I’ve got the peles working in the confined space.
Scratch the picture lol, my webcam is being stupid… I will, however, post a picture after I get the Uilas I just ordered into it.
I have all the crimps ready for it.
Love the Pololu crimper!!! And only $35!!!
Hey armi, you mentioned a bit back with the announcement of the Mahina gates that there would be some custom LS-56 springs. When will those be put up on the site as I have a cart full of Mahinas, silencers, and springs and that would be the last item I need right now. Also would anyone know how high an SS Plate raises a 40 or 56?
