Paradise Arcade Shop, LED Joysticks, Buttons, Mods and more

Nice profile tit… I mean pic, Susan…

BTW if anyone is too timid to touch the code, I can change the color for each individual button and add new colors for you.
(I’m currently rocking all six buttons on blue, but the blue deepens as you go down the line.)

I may be having difficulties figuring out the coding for these WS2811 LEDs, but I can still do that.

Just PM me with the color scheme you want.

I’m only on oral pain meds now so I’m not so nauseous.

I played around with it and was able to do several new colors to it. in fact i changed the whole default palette haha

what I can’t figure out is how to do “Constant ON at color X” then upon press “Changes to color Y” or something to that effect. any ideas?

@hibachifinal

Find these in the code and change it from BLACK to the color you want:

// initialize led array to RGB value 0,0,0 (black)
// push new color combinations to led strip
kaimanaSetSTRIP( BLACK );

// button released -- turn the led off (0,0,0)
kaimanaSetLED( iLED,BLACK );

^thanks that really helped! playing around with it more

Movies guys… Lets see some action! Lol

I’m actually about to take a quick video.

did a quick one just now…

IDLE is RGB 15,15,15 just to get a dim light indication that it’s hooked up to power.
but on press is individual colors corresponding to button (you’re right Bryan, white light washes out the button’s clear colors, blending with the RGB lights is way better looking)… doesn’t come out that well on video…

there’s also this i did earlier, better camera was used.
the kaimana stick is the second one ofc, but its more of the same minus the idle dim lights,

also comparing the X-busters with standard Seimitsu KN inserts :slight_smile:

Each of those blues are a different shade… it doesn’t show up well on camera.

Looks really cool, guys! So, have you guys looked into coding animations when buttons get pressed? That was one of the neatest aspects of the competing LED board currently under development (not mentioning names, but I’m sure I don’t have to :wink: ).

I was using the Kaimana Js instead of the Peles for my setup, but everything seems to work with the power tapped from the USB. So far I have no problems except for the burning out of a color on the LED, which was minor since i switched the LEDs around the stick.

The nice part about this coding is that it all open source and we are going to set the store up so YOU can earn store credit if people download your code. Downloads will be free. My understanding is that the other project is not open source. We will be launching with at least 10 presets available.

Those are great news Armi, I’m more than ready to buy at least two sets.

In other news… I finally have enough time to test more efficiently the gate… unfortunately I don’t have any camera right now at hand to take some shots…

Please tell me if is ok to you if I leave here my humble review or if you want to have it first.

Im glad to hear that, because right now all I can do with my sparky is this:

Its not bad but I want to do animations and that’s why I cant wait for Thursday LOL.

sorry for the poor quality vid. It was my first and I did it from my sub par phone :’(
@PlayDoh003 I feel you man. Animations with multiple colors is the # 1 reason I want this LED board. If I cant have both than whats the point. I know Brian will give us a base to work with and we can come up with our own stuff. that will be sick… If you take the time to play around who know what you can come up with.

First off… Thank you the vids are sweet!

I know there are some creative souls out there but we will prime he pump a little so to speak. This board can do some amazing things, let me see if I can get a demo together tomorrow and will have one of these guys show it off.

Pnoy lets get that one fixed

Wig you will be very happy

Fearless, these are very prelim prototypes, the jlf plates, shoot me a pm and lets get through one round of design changes then you can post all you like :slight_smile:

Hibachi, looks great. I may put together an led primer. LEDs look like regular lights in some ways, but when you start using filters they properties become very evident. Actually I will have Susan do the primer, she is constantly counseling people on lights in Balltops.

I guess I’ll have to catch up a bit on Arduino programming. I’ve been looking into the .Net MF architecture recently for a few unrelated projects that I’ve had in mind, but I might be able to get up to speed with Arduino.

That will be a godsend for me as I have no experience in coding at all. At first I didn’t really care for the Kiamana but after all the pics and videos I am really looking forward to it.

Ok @Moonchilde , here are the pics of the PS-14-G buttons with Little Kahunas installed.

And the button without the Little K installed

Button has different construction, not as deep as a KN. I wonder if that makes a difference. I’ll have to check one out someday. Thank you for the pictures, appreciate it.

@iNendoi and they rock? Lol
