Paradise Arcade Shop, LED Joysticks, Buttons, Mods and more

FRICK!!! I should have waited a few more days before placing my order! THOSE BALLTOPS ARE BEAUTIFUL.

I is so sad.

Balltops, people - BallTOPS!!! Lol, they look awesome though!

I don’t suppose you folks saw the spider and scorpion ball tops posted on the Paradise Arcade facebook page?

Bwahahahahaha…

Quote of the day!

Just putting the bugs and other ball tops together! and we had an idea…

We are going to run a sale… Lucky 7’s in honor of Evo in Vegas. Check out our Facebook page for the code, for one week, Crown shafts will be $7 each. Add on a 5V led for only 0.50 more!

The code will be posted this Friday so check it out! Every Friday through the summer there will be a different 1 week sale code posted on our facebook page for discounts on items.

Can’t wait to see people at Evo, for those of you that can’t make it, bug balls will be up for sale next week. You have got to see the scorpion ball backlit in green, it’s creepy!

[EYEBALLS bulging out, pupils shrunk to pinpoints…]

Scorpions… yuck!

I’m not going to get that image out of my head for a few days.

I don’t like bugs as a general principle but arachnids in particular really creep me out!
My phobia is so bad that I wouldn’t be able to even handle a balltop with a spider or scorpion in it…

[Thanks to walks in the forest, I have less of a problem with snakes now… Go figure!]

Thank goodness for portable vacuum cleaners! I don’t have to handle the suckers at all to get rid of dead or living critters.

The butter-balls really did turn out well…

[SIGH] I have to save up some money or hope that the credit card refund comes through quicker!
They really are beauties!

Paradise Arcade Shop Review from a recent customer:

First off, bravo! This place is awesome and I would purchase again for sure. Im not sure if I just got lucky or something, but the shipping from PAS to Canada (specifically Ontario) was phenomenally fast. It was just USPS Priority Mail, but I placed my order in and got my package exactly 1 week later. Awesome!!! Potential Canadian customers, PAS has great shipping.

As for customer service, you guys are top notch. Susan of PAS made my life a lot easier by drilling the balltop (for LED usage), free of charge. Thankyou Susan! My LED stick mod went great. For other potential customers, the $0.50 LEDS are perfect for the hollow shafts. They have a black rubberish ending that allows the LED to fit snugly in the hollow shaft.

All other products came in excellent condition. However, Armi, please investigate the Paradise Crystal Clear plungers. Unfortunately, of the 2 I ordered, one had a distinct yellowish discoloration. :frowning:

Its no biggie though, I just want to give you guys a heads up. Overall, you guys are great. I will order again for sure.

The added Hawaiian chocolate was also a nice touch

Do canadians get free shipping with the coupon?

I wish paradise arcade could make clear button plugs. LED potential…

@Djyin, thanks! Thrilled the order went well. The clears come up yellow when the mold cycles too long. Happens about 1/20-50. Thought we got them out but let us know when you order again and we can easily slip in a replacement.

@Kaihong, sorry, the cost is a bit much, but we can discount it.

@jayducky, you have my attention sir

Sitting in Salt Lake City, hating the red eye flight… Next stop Vegas!

^^ How about this?

@emphatic sounding better…

I’m almost as hyped about these nonexistent art/LED plugs as I am about EVO! Why hasn’t anyone done this yet?!

@armi0024 okay I just placed my order (#7481) a moment ago with a note about a discount. Thank you very much.

does this place offer modding services? and is there a brick store i can go to or is this just online sales? I will be in HI from aug 4-9 and would like someone to change the pcb and cable in my stick

Hello! I’m really new to this hobby. I just bought some buttons from you guys and I’m excited to get them =)

But my question is… I have an x-arcade tankstick and I want to changed the joystick to a balltop. What is the easiest way to go about with this? Would it be possible to just buy a shaft and a balltop from you guys and just change that? or do I need to change the whole joystick?

If I do need to change the whole joystick, which is the best all around balltop that you have? I use the arcade for fighting games, classic 4-way controlled games, NES games. Just about everything. Which joystick would be simple to mount on an x-arcade without major modding (i’m not good with carpentry or wiring. but I am good with following directions).

Thanks!

I am in room 1547 in the south tower. I will be here until about 6 with ballots, ps360s and more! Number is 41547 to the room

We don’t mod but HVGL does, email and we can put you in touch with them.

Mercium, what stick do you have in there and what do you want to do, keep the same feeling or change up the feel. We can do either.

I have the original sticks in the x-arcade CP xgaming.com/store/arcade-joysticks-and-game-controllers/product/x-arcade-tankstick-includes-usb-cables/

I really just want a balltop but if you can suggest an easy to install balltop joystick for the x-arcade control panel I can do that to.

Simply changing the shaft is also ok.

If you don’t mind, can you give me an email where we can continue this conversation? I don’t want to flood the forum =)

Thanks!

Do a search on the forum for the X-Arcade joysticks. There are plenty of existing threads that will probably answer your questions about this hardware.

You really should have checked the ā€œAnnouncement Threadsā€ before you started posting here. It’s just basic etiquette and a faux pas not to do that; the mods are eventually going to come down harder on newer members if people keep ignoring the rules and existing FAQ/Announcement Threads… The FAQs been up there for well over a year but I see at least 75% of the new people who come in STILL don’t read them. Most any basic question about parts and modding that will be asked has already been answered a dozen times or more since I registered four years ago.

There’s plenty of information in the FAQs about parts and differences amongst lines as well as tutorials – including possible links to threads about your particular joystick.

  • The basic problem with the X-Arcade joysticks is that the original hardware isn’t that great. Those joysticks do not have the highest quality arcade parts in them. They are also not designed to fit Japanese parts. You would have to do extensive modding if you wanted to re-equip the case with higher-quality Japanese arcade parts.

The X-Arcade joystick levers might not even be American design to begin with. There are a lot of generic joystick levers out there with similarily-designed bat handles and thin shafts. The problem is finding what fits the existing interface/holes. Search for the right thread and odds are people have figured out already exactly what fits the X-Arcade case.

There are plenty of fans of American/iL arcade parts but you will find yourself outnumbered at least 9-to-1 by Japanese arcade part conniseurs… That’s what is popular in tournaments, that’s what is being used in mass-market joysticks being sold online and in stores. This is the market that Hori, Mad Catz, and Qanba cater to; American parts fans should stop kidding themselves that these companies will ever use Happ or iL parts in their main kits – not gonna happen. You will have to buy an older-style joystick (MAS joystick) with American parts OR make your own joystick case. There’s no point trying to mod a Japanese-style arcade case to fit American parts because American parts are massive and fit too deep to use in Asian-style joystick cases. Occasionally, a company like PDP may release an American-style joystick with knock-off parts (Mortal Kombat joystick, anyone?) but those are fewer and farther between than even Seimitsu-equipped joysticks!

IF you want American parts, you’ll have to get them online from specialty dealers. Right now, Paradise Arcade Shop is the only American retailer I’m aware of that carries/stocks American/iL arcade parts (in addition to Japanese and other Asian arcade part lines). There are European vendors that also carry these parts, too, but I’ll leave to find those on your own since this is a Paradise Arcade thread and I don’t feel it’s in good taste to throw business to its competitors!

Georgec, its arcadeshop.de, all good.
It is important to read up but enthusiasm is also good.
We offer IL which are the original Happ and much higher quality than existing Happ or xarcade. You can put abball top on a Happ or IL using our hollow shaft replacements.
