Paradise Arcade Shop, LED Joysticks, Buttons, Mods and more

I had an email from her waiting for me when I woke up so that’s perfect  Sorry about my other post above, I knew about the funeral and I had said I understood that you two would be backed up from that and that I was sorry for your loss in my previous messages that I sent but I forgot to say anything in this post.

I actually just decided to order the cable and some extra stuff from Canadian Joysticks just because I don’t want to have another chance to get hit by duty by you sending me another shipment. I’ll send off an email to you just to make it official and then it’ll be sorted.

Thanks for the help

[Very, very embarrassed I originally put this in the wrong thread. Glad I caught it and was able to delete the post before posting it in the right place here!]

Bryan/Armi0024,

I was looking at something online just a few minutes ago…

I’m interested in experimenting with the Zippyy(sp)/LS-32 silent mod in the near-future but had some questions about the joystick levered microswitches used with the Seimitsu LS-series joysticks

a) Besides the 50g levered arm Zippy microswitch for the official and cloned LS-32’s, I read that there is an Omron microswitch that’s compatible with the LS-32… It’s Joystick Switch, long, Omron, Sanwa part number: MS-O-2… It’s made for the Sanwa JLW joysticks but works with the Crown CWL303 and 306 joysticks, too… (Very possibly the same microswitch used with the new reconfigured Crown CWJ-303A’s designed to fit into Japanese stick cases.)
What is the cost of this microswitch by the way?

(I was very surprised, btw, that the Zippyy micros for the LS-32 silent mod have a lower resistance{?} rating than the Omron microswitches used for the silent JLF. What gives? Why does the manufacturer price the Omron much higher? I care about quality as much as the next person with common sense but there’s a limit and when another product costs 100% more than the competition it makes you wonder…)

b) Just a little investigations shows that the LS-33, -55, -56, and -58 series use a different microswitch style from the LS-32 and LS-40. This is a short-lever microswitch. Appears to be the same for all these joysticks, too. That leads to the next question –
b2) Do the LS-32 and LS-40 in fact use the same style long-lever microswitch if not the same specifications? I’ve looked at a parts list and the microswitches sure seem about the same. They seem to have the same numbering on them ( 16A25OVAC ) which I guess is the electrical rating but different “mark” (production lot?) numbers. I’m going off from what I can see on a parts website which has been an education-and-a-half (I didn’t want to have). (The crap I have to learn for this hobby! )
b3) Microswitch identities being the same, WOULD the silent Zippyy mod kit be compatible with the LS-40 (no PCB) in fact?

The long levered 20 gf Zippy kit is compatible. 50 grams might be a bit too low for the LS-40 though as the spring doesn’t have a lot of tension on it. I’d recommend something more like, 100 gf. Otherwise, the snap back to neutral won’t feel as good. Or, find a spring with more tension for the LS-40.

You can get Omron switches from mouser.com. You’ll find they carry long and short levered switches that are the same spec as the ones used in the JLW. Might want to check it out. Switches will be about $3 each most likely.

Do you have anew ETA for me as the Uila leds are still out of stock?

Thanks, but the minimum order on Mouser.com is for 59 units… 100 units are actually $2 cheaper to buy than 59(!). Makes no sense, but oh well!
The D2RV-L are 25g… There is a variant D2RV-LG that’s 50g but Mouser doesn’t carry it. I don’t think either unit is “silent” at any rate. I am wondering, though, if these lower rated microswitches are maybe too soft. I was struck by the higher force rating (125g) on the Omrons used for the silent JLF.

Gonna wait and see what Bryan/Armi says. I’m not gonna bother with an alternate spring for the LS-40… The spacing on that shaft is tight as it is for the LS-32 spring. You can’t put in more than one spring comfortably and I really don’t want to spend money on a generic spring set from a hardware store – half the springs in those sets are good for nothing. I’d rather experiment with the LS-32… This is one area where the older unit is better than the newer design.

I haven’t heard of an alternate LS-32/LS-40 spring at any rate; most of the spring designs are centered on the JLF. Its shaft is so narrow just about anything in production for Seimitsu joysticks fits it!

I just wanted to stop in here and thank you guys for the quick shipment. I ordered a ps360+ on Tuesday and it arrived today. I appreciate the service!

I purchased switches from mouser.com before and didn’t have to order any particular minimum. FWIW, I had actually ordered from the Omron VA series of switches that were similar enough spec. Actually, I picked up 100 gf instead of 160 gf. So you may want to look into that series of Omron if you still want the clicky switches.

Also, you could use a JLF spring on a LS-40, the only thing is you’d need to buy a separate spring guide because you’d need to shave down the part that surrounds the shaft, so that the spring can fully extend proper. You don’t actually need a real LS-40 spring, just a modified spring guide. This piece here:

Cut it down so it’s similar to a flat washer. Then you can use any spring you wish as long as it can fit around the shaft.

Hi Bryan, would you happen to have an estimate as to when the New Thick silencers will be available for purchase? Thanks!

is there any HAPP/IL sized button plugs in stock?

Thick silencers are coming up shortly,
Happ IL button plugs are here, and we will list them shortly

We have the old style Sanwa Mesh tops on the shelf!!!
These are not “molded to be like” or “close to”, these are them. Very limited quantity, so enjoy.

Also, I just thought I would remind people we have these…

For some reason these have seen a resurgence lately. John Pipp originally introduced these as Rollies. They’ve been known as Glaz-tek, Quartz, and other names. We’ve always called them Jyueeaang buttons, mainly because, that’s who manufactures them. We do not offer our buttons with a sanwa switch included, but we have them up for $2 each, so you can decide if you want to spend another 1.25 on a SW68 or not  These buttons are 100% compatible with the Sanwa SW68 micros.
These take artwork, leds, and more. also check out the Pele LED rings, soon to be back instock, for the only side lit option, providing even lighting that doesn’t blind you through the transparent plungers.

Also coming up… A taste of what is to come in the next 1-2 weeks
We had originally set up factory direct sourcing but one of our suppliers picked up these products exclusively… unfortunately that means higher pricing, but they will be available!

Hmmm, what are those last two?

Also on deck… CW203 Korean buttons!

Where did you guys get those mirror balltops? I know focus attack is also stocking them, but they look like the ones by dragon joysticks that joe biank used to sell here and on ebay.

They were originally produced by a company in Taiwan and we were supposed to get those and the mesh tops back in January. However, they signed an exlcusive supply deal with one of our suppliers, which really messed up the cost! Literally the cost from the supplier is more than double the price we were originally quoted :frowning: Most wholesale items to vendors here come through the same distribution networks, that’s why you see the same products…

We have one vendor that has a more direct in road to Sanwa than most though, so we do get access to a few things that are hard to find.

Please note… the mesh tops currently in the store, ARE ORIGINAL SANWA, and not these reproductions.

cant wait to see your IL/Happ parts… Have 2 SF15 sticks waiting to get upgrade.

Any 24mm Rollie’s?

Of course!
24mm Tranlucent Buttons
Wigsplitter, what are you looking for?

thanks armi, gonna be filling this mas case out so expect an order for some plugs and buttons!

Nice, I asked Susan to get a set of items up each night for the next 7 nights, we have a ton of stuff sitting at our house that are just not on the website!

I hate to say this armi, but I think the labeling on two of the Sanwa meshballs is off…

The red/vermillion and light blue meshballs have the newer, looser net patterns. The pink and violet are the tighter, “older style” mesh patterns.

They talked a little about these here => Item found, thanks

The dark mesh patterns on the LE darker red and green meshballs just complicates things more!
Sanwa hasn’t done those patterns or the “rounder, dark square” mesh patterns in years…

Any ETA on restock of the ps360+? I missed out last time and just picked up a project where I’ll need one, I’m signed up to be notified when they’re back in stock, just wondered if you had a ballpark timeframe
